A Playlist of Songs befitting of Frozen

2019.12.10 15:34 AlKydonHorvingward A Playlist of Songs befitting of Frozen

I just wanted to share a list of songs I think would fit Frozen/Frozen 2 very well, and why. Feel free to comment songs you think should be on this list.
"You Should Be Here" by Cole Swindell-Right of the bat, we have a song for the sisters, particularly Anna after her coronation, since her and Elsa's parents aren't there to see their youngest become Queen, and their eldest daughter's transformation.
"What Ifs" by Kane Brown feat. Lauren Alaina-This song attests to the apprehension of being in love, and breaking past that.
"Perfect Storm" by Brad Paisley-One word: Elsa. Truly this is an amazing song, and I think that from a Frozen fan's perspective, especially us who are in love with with the Fifth Spirit Goddess herself, it attests to the fact that, even with all the emotion and the struggle, you can still find love and happiness in someone.
"It's My Life" by Bon Jovi-This can go one of two ways: Anna or Elsa, based on the fact that they are such free spirits (moreso Anna because in the first film, she wasn't much of a rule follower)
"Find Out Who Your Friends Are" by Tracy Lawrence-Anna, definitely Anna, in the sense that she thought Hans was good for her, but realized that in fact he was not.
"If You're Going Through Hell" by Rodney Atkins-Well, what can I say, Elsa and Anna have been through hell in each film, and somehow made it out okay
"Come Back Song" by Darius Rucker-This is gonna be the song playing in Hans's head when he finally realizes the magnitude of his mistakes, and how he would want to fix things between him and the sisters
"Tonight Looks Good on You" by Jason Aldean-Kristoff taking Anna or anyone taking Elsa out on a date, this song applies. (Or it just applies in general, you don't have to look good for a specific occasion)
"New Divide" by Linkin Park-This and "What I've Done", also by Linkin Park, can apply for the relationship between Elsa and Anna early on
"Living" by Dierks Bentley-Definitely a song for the sisters following the second film
"Even Though I'm Leaving" by Luke Combs-This song has made me cry a few times, and whenever I listen to it I think about Anna now being the Queen, she's going to have those moments where she doesn't know what to do, and she needs Elsa to help her. This can also be said for when Iduna and Agnarr went on their trip. All in all, this song can be made into a song for the entire Frozen franchise, encapsulating so many different moments in time for them
"Woman, Amen" by Dierks Bentley-I performed this song at my school's Arts Night/Variety Show back in the spring, as a tribute to a friend of mine I met a few years earlier (she is still alive, but not in the same state as me right now). This song also makes me think about Kristoff and his love for Anna, as well as my love for Elsa.

2019.08.22 18:26 Pandaemonium I feel like I need to make another "I'm finally caught-up!" post

Up until the end of July I was completely up-to-date on all the GCP content (GS, A&A, RotLC, GCL, the works.)
But foolishly I took a two-day vacation the last couple days of July, and it's taken me until RIGHT NOW to catch up with all the new content! Between the regular shows and then the 2E sessions with Jason Bulmahn, Glass Cannon Live, and Silent Tide, they've been PUMPING OUT the content!
So I just wanted to make an appreciation post for all the work the GCP crew has been doing! I remember when GCP was a once-a-week treat, now it's this network with full-time employees and a firehose of new shows. Hurrah!

2019.07.20 08:18 recockulous Coyotes social media accounts on Instagram & Twitter

I found myself wanting to check out what the players were up to in the offseason... and after talking about it in some threads last season, I finally knuckled down and started a collection of Coyotes Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Google Spreadsheet (Read Only) of the accounts I found
(Note: Italicized accounts appear to belong to the person, but are marked private)
(Note: I skipped parody accounts, or accounts where it wasn't clear who was actually the owner)

It was an interesting dive, if only because of Jason Demers' Twitter account banner.
I will try to keep this up to date as roster changes are made and as I discover other accounts. Let me know if you find anything new to add, or if there are any necessary edits that should be made. Enjoy!

2019.06.26 13:38 BWPhoenix Witcher Wednesday – June news and discussion round-up

June was the month in which The Witcher wrapped filming on season one, as confirmed by showrunner Lauren S Hissrich. It's been quite the journey ... remember when Lauren and Alik Sakharov were toasting the end of the first week of filming?
Wrapping S1 wasn't the only cause for partying this month, though. Author Andzrej Sapkowski, director Charlotte Brändström and Michał Żebrowski (the Hexer's Geralt) all celebrated their birthdays!
On our end, the community put a spotlight on Henry Cavill and the stunt and choreography team. As well as those, we also put together everything we know about the show's adaptation of The Witcher short story, ft. the Striga.
As for the rest of the month (and very late May, which came after our previous round-up):

NEWS (FILMING)

We may have had our first look at Ciri in Brokilon, along with a dryad (via Redanian Intelligence, written as RI from now on) A blurry figure can be seen in a photo of the stunning forest setting on the Canary Islands ... and it looks like Freya Allan - Article Discussion
Witchhunters were filming at a quarry, and it could involve sorceresses and dwarves (via RI) Pictures from Tarnok quarry include a stone with a tearful face carved into it - Article Discussion
Thanks to @GoTlikeLocation we were given a very, very close look at a couple of the sets the show used (via RI) The pictures include the show's own GoT-esque coffee cup scandal, some attractive props and, perhaps, a very-well-known farm - Article Discussion
Director Marc Jobst has been filming a fight scene in episode one (via RI) Marc has been helping with reshoots, at least, and posted a gruesome photo of the scene - Picture Article Discussion
Geralt and Jaskier filmed scenes at Tata Castle in Hungary in April (via RI) The iconic duo were at the scene which had previously been pictured from afar with two "moons" - Article Discussion
Filming is over, but new pictures are still emerging, including of Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz (via RI) They give a great look at his armour and Triss's red dress - Article Discussion
Some adaptation of Sodden looks likely, with more pictures of the sets coming to light (via RI) Redanian Intelligence also recapped everything we know about how the show will handle Sodden - Article Discussion

NEWS (GENERAL)

Cast and crew took to the dancefloor to celebrate a wrap on filming for season one and revealed a logo for the show (via RI). A video compilation of the night by Redanian Intelligence includes the Witcher logo we've seen blurrily before ... but will it be used for the show itself? - Video Article Logo discussion Wrap discussion
Emma Appleton could be replacing Millie Brady as Renfri (via RI). Redanian Intelligence found the CV of a stunt co-ordinator that suggests this will be the case - Article Discussion
The writing room for season two appears to be up and running, in some form (via RI). Writer Beau DeMayo and showrunner Lauren S Hissrich liked an Instagram post from writer Declan de Barra outside a Writers' Room in LA - Article Discussion
Hungarian firm PhotoPro Production are working on official promotional material for the show (via RI). Another recent show they've done promotion for was AMC's The Terror - Terror promo Article Discussion
Actor Jason Thorpe, who plays Lord Ostrit, said he saw the show doing ADR and that it "looked good". Automated Dialogue Replacement is a process used after filming, often to improve or clean-up dialogue - Tweet Discussion
A crew member appears to have confirmed the December release date (via RI). Posting about the wrap party, a crew member said it had been an "amazing, if tough, experience", with the next step being getting it ready for December - Article Discussion
Czech workshop Wulflund received a thank-you pendant from the show's set decoration department (via WitcherFlix). It's unclear whether the font used on the pendant is official, since it's not a unique one, but it could be - Picture Discussion
A netflixwitcher user took photos in Szelim cave, one of the filming locations. It's not yet known which scenes the cave will be used for - Album Discussion (more pics in comments)
Actress Viktória Korompai will appear in the show in an unknown role. She responded to an Instagram post by Henry Cavill saying shooting had been "so good" and thanking him - Picture Discussion

SUMMARY

Despite filming wrapping early in the month, June still provided some good food. As for July ... well, it could be a much shorter round-up if promotional material isn't released. But we know from a previous Witcher Wednesday that journalists have been in Budapest to interview Henry Cavill, and we know now that PhotoPro are working on some kind of promotion. So, how far away is our next official info? Don't miss out on the hype when it happens!

Reviews

Website/Author Aggregates' Score ~ Critic's Score Quote Platform
AngryCentaurGaming - Jeremy Penter Wait for Sale ~ Wait for Sale Despite the issues with the combat, I would say, for me, this is a 'Wait for a sale' maybe for 50% off, and many are probably gonna say wait for a deep, deep sale. If you're a fan of Darksiders games, make no mistake there's fanservice here, there's tons of it, and some tried and trued Darksiders action, but as a fan, you might also notice the change in the game design mixed with the occasional lackluster level design as well, which honestly, especially after recently playing the remastered editions, leaves a bit to be desired. I think for many, the situation is gonna split down the middle: those who loved the intricate design of the past games dungeons and locations, and those who wanted a more open environment. At times, it does have freakishly good combat, and at times, it is actually interesting to explore, and at times, there's a puzzle or two that were at least slightly fun. Of course, there are those technical issues that they need to shore up.
Eurogamer - Malindy Hetfeld Unscored ~ Unscored Darksiders' schlocky action makes a welcome return, though it's not enough to shake the feeling you've played this before - and better. PC
Rock, Paper, Shotgun - R0B0D4D Unscored ~ Unscored It’s a slight affair all-told, the characteweapon upgrade system drably functional, much of the combat and environments routine, the plot generously described as forgettable. Often, it fully gets away with not being the beneficiary of big, fat THQbucks, as its predecessors enjoyed, but sometimes its (presumably) slightly more humble THQ Nordic budget is more apparent. PC
Polygon - Ryan Gilliam Unscored ~ Unscored Darksiders 3 is a nostalgic trip, reminding me of games I loved when I was younger. It never does anything spectacular, nor does it offer many new ideas. Instead, it exists as an earnest reminder of how games played eight years ago, and that’s enough for me. PC
Jimpressions - Jim Fucking Sterling, Son Unscored ~ Unscored Darksiders is my thing; I adore it. But this... I just wish it didn't exist. It's a stain on the series. One of the most backwards sequels I've ever seen. Darksiders III is a pale, tiny, twisted shadow of the series.
Niche Gamer - Sophia Narwitz 90 ~ 9 / 10 There are a few qualms here and there, like its technical issues, and at the end of the day I wish it offered more enemy variety, but even when considering those problems, the game is a blast. PS4
God is a Geek - Gary Bailey 90 ~ 9 / 10 Darksiders III is a stunning achievement, bringing the once-dead series back to life with aplomb. PC
Areajugones - Ronald Goncalves - Spanish 90 ~ 9 / 10 Once again, the Horsemen offer us a masterpiece. Darksiders III, even with all the fear and skepticism behind the game, has managed to become a superb hack ‘n' slash. The personal journey of Fury against the Seven Deadly Sins is simply amazing, and everything is set towards the future for Strife to come and end this awesome epic.
Gadgets 360 - Rishi Alwani 90 ~ 9 / 10 All in all, Darksiders 3 is a stunning return to a franchise that we'd love to see more of. The stellar game world, intriguing story, and slick gameplay make it one worth checking out even if you're not a fan of the series. It's a surprise Darksiders 3 exists. And a welcome one at that. PC
The Games Machine - Danilo Dellafrana - Italian 87 ~ 8.7 / 10 Darksiders III is a nice game, as well as a perfect sequel to a series that seemed lost in the maelstrom generated by THQ's bankruptcy. Fury might not have the charisma of the previous knigtht, War and Death, but overall the adventure boasts a very good pace, alternating discreetly challenging fights and satisfying puzzles. Definitely recommended. PC
GaminGuardian - Alberto Morales Palencia - Spanish 85 ~ 8.5 / 10 Darksiders III is a breath of fresh air in the Darksiders franchise. The game bet on a more defiant combat and a interconnected world, similar to dark souls series, and the result is very well. PC
Hobby Consolas - Martín Amechazurra Falagán - Spanish 85 ~ 85 / 100 Darksiders 3 goes back to its Hack and Slash roots with some really engaging combat, challenging enemies, and a world that offers some great variety in its levels, but the course of the adventure ends up being somewhat linear. PC
Spaziogames - Valthiel - Italian 85 ~ 8.5 / 10 Darksiders 3 is the best entry in the series. This new chapter has a solid game structure and represents all the best that you can expect from a modern action-adventure game. PC
Shacknews - Larryn Bell 80 ~ 8 / 10 Darksiders 3 does seem a bit lacking when compared to its series brethren, at least for those who come in with high expectations. Darksiders 3 is recognizably a Darksiders game. However, the game would have benefited from more risk-taking in areas where it chose to play it safe. Nevertheless, Fury’s story is one worth experiencing, especially for long-time fans who are anxious to see how the next chapter of the four horsemen unfurls. PC
Windows Central - Brendan Lowry 80 ~ 4 / 5 stars Despite the issues that drag down Darksiders III, it's still an excellent hack-and-slash action RPG that is more than worth the purchase. PC
Game Informer - Kyle Hilliard 80 ~ 8 / 10 What Darksiders III lacks in production values, it makes up for with good design. The smaller, personal elements of the story are interesting, but the larger picture is confusing PC
Gamerheadquarters - Jason Stettner 80 ~ 8 / 10 Darksiders 3 is a solid next entry in the series with Fury being a strong lead providing charm and rage fueled will. XB1
Destructoid - Chris Carter 80 ~ 8 / 10 Most of my complaints are related to the RPG bits which are not the main focus of Darksiders III. It remains an action-fueled project and that's an angle it does well, reigning in some of the out-of-hand ideas from its predecessor. With all of the efforts to resurrect this once dead and buried series I hope there's a chance to wrap it all up with Strife: I want to see this story through until the end, blemishes and all. PS4
GamingBolt - Will Borger 80 ~ 8 / 10 DarkSiders III marries the best parts of DarkSiders will new mechanics, a fun world to explore, enjoyable characters and story, and an engaging combat system. PC
Digitally Downloaded - Matt Sainsbury 80 ~ 4 / 5 stars Darksiders III is a fine return for a series that fans were hoping against hope to see again. PS4
GamingLyf - Charles Tyldsley 80 ~ 4 / 5 stars Darksiders 3 shifts the series in a new Souls-like direction. Whilst not all of the new elements are a home-run, the game's combat is fantastic throughout. Despite some frustrating difficulty spikes and performance issues here and there, the game still manages to provide a whole lot of fun from start to finish. In an era of microtransaction riddled experiences, Darksiders 3 feels like a breath of fresh air.
Softpedia - Andrei Dobra 75 ~ 7.5 / 10 The performance issues on the PS4 and the iffy platforming make the game fall short of reaching the same status as its past entries. All these things may be fixed with future updates but, at least for now, the title can only be recommended to hardcore fans and those looking for a challenge. PS4
PlayStation Universe - Garri Bagdasarov 75 ~ 7.5 / 10 Darksiders 3 does a lot right but suffers from some technical issues that hold it back from greatness. Nevertheless, the fantastic exploration, great character designs, fun combat, and excellent writing help it outshine some of its faults. Fans will definitely find that Gunfire Games have done a great job keeping the essence of the franchise alive. PS4
GamingTrend - Ron Burke 75 ~ 7.5 / 10 With a more heavy focus on action, Darksiders III is a return to the roots of the franchise, and away from the RPG elements of its predecessor. Whether that appeals to you or not, there’s more than enough fantastic story elements to bring any fan back to see how Fury’s story ties to her Four Horseman brethren. Let’s just hope Gunfire Games can apply one last coat of polish over the controls and checkpoint system to elevate this game to where it belongs. PC
Merlin'in Kazanı - Korhan Onuk - Turkish 74 ~ 74 / 100 Darksiders 3 is more difficult than previous games. Terrible checkpoint system and long loading times makes game troublesome. But soundtracks, combat system and bosses are great. You should give it a try.
TechRaptor - Dan Hodges 70 ~ 7 / 10 Darksiders 3 makes up its lack of depth in satisfying combat and memorable boss fights, making for a solid third entry in the series. PC
WellPlayed - Ash Wayling 70 ~ 7 / 10 Darksiders III does feel like a game that wished it was released many years ago, with a slew of older-style design elements that sit alongside more modern attitudes towards combat and story PS4, PC
PC Invasion - Andrew Farrell 70 ~ 3.5 / 5 stars Overall, I honestly loved Darksiders III in spite of its shortcomings. It does have some serious problems, but the world and level designs as a whole save it in my eyes. Taken on its Metroidvania merits, it absolutely nails what makes the genre one of my favorites. PC
GamesRadar+ - Sam Prell 70 ~ 3.5 / 5 stars Darksiders 3 feels like coming home for fans, and combat is a blast - but it can be hard to appreciate the good when dealing with a laundry list of technical stumbles. PS4
Press Start - James Mitchell 70 ~ 7 / 10 Darksiders III is the follow-up that fans have been waiting for, no doubt, but this is both its greatest strength and weakness. On one hand, it feels just like the previous two games albeit with a much better combat system and some fantastic encounters. On the other, much like Darksiders II, it's trying too many things at once and comes off as having an identity crisis. Without a doubt, though, Darksiders III is easily better than Darksiders II, and that's worth celebrating. PS4
RPG Site - Bryan Vitale 70 ~ 7 / 10 Darksiders III falls short of the games it's imitating, but it is still an engaging experience in its own right. PC
TheSixthAxis - Thomas Hughes 70 ~ 7 / 10 Darksiders III, while more limited in scope than its predecessor, provides a tighter, more deliberate experience that elaborates on the lore we've seen so far. The smaller world of Darksiders 3 may disappoint some fans of the previous game, but this feels like a reboot of the series. Poor PC performance, a lack of side-objectives and some unimaginative world-design point to a game with ambitions bigger than its budget, but Darksiders II is a fun and challenging experience that kept me engaged across the length of its story. PC
Worth Playing - Cody Medellin 70 ~ 7 / 10 There is no doubt that Darksiders III is a flawed product, but series fans who are accepting of the changes will find it to be a good entry in the series. The camera is a source of constant frustration since it causes a number of issues where you get sucker-punched in combat while you're still relatively weak. With that said, the combat becomes enjoyable once you come to grips with the Dark Souls-style system and the more open level design takes the sting out of having to fight through closed spaces for most of the game. One has to wonder how different the possible fourth game could be. PC
GameMAG - GameMAG - Russian 70 ~ 7 / 10 Darksiders III is a "hello from the past" with an interesting story, controversial design decisions, challenging and not always obvious puzzles, and a clearly limited budget. Blurry graphics and optimization problems spoil the impression, but if you'll stay with the game for a first few hours of gameplay, then Darksiders 3 will offer you a cool character, epic battles with beautiful bosses, good puzzles and a deep world exploration. In this case, the game will still be able to keep your attention until the very end. PS4
IGN - Daemon Hatfield 70 ~ 7 / 10 The straightforward simplicity of Darksiders III is a refreshing change of pace after exploring so many dense open-world games. That simplicity doesn’t refer to the combat or boss battles, though, which are complex and almost startlingly unforgiving. Its throwback philosophy is comfort food for action gamers of a certain age, but it would’ve been nice to see the third game in the series introduce some new concepts to relaunch Darksiders in the modern age. PS4. XB1, PC
The Digital Fix - Stephen Dalton 70 ~ 7 / 10 Darksiders III isn’t a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s hardly the upgrade many fans were anticipating. Thankfully, Fury is easily the most compelling and intriguing of the Horsemen, and the hunt for the Seven Deadly Sins was, for the most part, enjoyable thanks to a solid script, excellent voice acting and unique character designs. Sadly though, dull visuals, technical glitches and a brutal difficulty mean Darksiders III is a solid, if unspectacular entry into the Darksiders series. PS4
PC Gamer - Samuel Horti 62 ~ 62 / 100 With less loot to grab, simplified platforming and easy puzzles, Darksiders 3 leans harder on its combat than previous games. And while Fury packs a punch, the wonky camera makes fights more frustrating that they should be. It doesn’t condemn Darksiders to oblivion, but it’s the lowlight of the series so far. PC
Critical Hit - Darryn Bonthuys 60 ~ 6 / 10 Beneath the mountain of bugs, shoddy design and inconsistent performance, there's a genuinely good adventure waiting to be experienced in Darksiders III. Unfortunately, its numerous problems are more than just annoying in nature. They're quite simply…apocalyptic. PS4
Push Square - Ken Talbot 60 ~ 6 / 10 Darksiders hasn't changed much since 2012. It's still a fun mishmash of genres with a great protagonist and undemanding combat systems, but it's a pity that it feels outdated compared to its genre peers and stumbles when injecting Souls-like sensibilities. PS4
Daily Mirror - JC Suttun 60 ~ 3 / 5 stars Darksiders 3 is for the most part a fun and well made adventure that you'll want to see through to the end. But while the different approach to combat is indeed an attempt to push the series somewhere new, in the end it leaves the whole experience feeling slightly off-balance, coming across like a watered down Dark Souls in spots when it should have had enough personality in its own right.
MS Power User - Lewis White 60 ~ 6 / 10 Gunfire Games have done well in providing an engaging and satisfying third entry in the Darksiders franchise. With meaty, fast combat and fantastic character designs, I want everyone to play a version of Darksiders 3 that doesn’t feel like it’s imploding. As enjoyable as it is, it can’t escape from its technical shortcomings. It’s a sinking ship but the band is still playing – at least the song sounds good. XB1
Attack of the Fanboy - William Schwartz 60 ~ 3 / 5 stars As the great Paul Hollywood once said, this one could’ve used a little more time in the oven. Gunfire Games has done its best, and at times, succeeds in making Darksiders 3 a worthwhile successor to the previous two entries. Combat is fun and accessible while exploration is nuanced enough to remain engaging. But there isn’t enough off the beaten path or outside of the fairly predictable story to really help this stand out. Ridiculous performance problems that I experienced only help compound a package that is enjoyable yet ultimately underwhelming.
AusGamers - Kosta Andreadis 58 ~ 5.8 / 10 It doesn’t become great, but there are flashes of brilliance and promise. PC
Stevivor - Steve Wright 50 ~ 5 / 10 At the end of the day, Darksiders 3 is four years too late and four years behind current game design. As you (sufferingly) progress, things improve… but you really, really need to be dedicated to get to that point. I’d recommend Darksiders 3 to die-hard fans of the franchise — and I truly mean die-hard — and no one else. It’s too painful to play for a majority of the time. PC
VideoGamer - Colm Ahern 50 ~ 5 / 10 When combat is between you and one other, Darksiders 3 can provide some decent, button-mashy fun, but the real fight is with the baffling world design and some cheap deaths. PC
GameSkinny - Ty Arthur 50 ~ 5 / 10 Darksiders 3 is a major downgrade with simplified design, slower Souls-style combat, and a lack of anything to distinguish it from any other action game. PC
Game Revolution - Michael Leri 40 ~ 2 / 5 stars For a game all about destroying the manifestations of sin, Darksiders 3 is guilty of a lot of them. PS4
GameSpot - Richard Wakeling 40 ~ 4 / 10 Darksiders 3 retrogrades on its predecessors with an unfocused approach that constantly clashes with itself. There are remnants of a good game here, buried within the vivacious combos of a combat style this game doesn't want to embrace. Unfortunately, it's buried far too deep to ever salvage. PS4
CGMagazine - Preston Dozsa 40 ~ 4 / 10 Darksiders 3 is a game that’s never quite sure what it wants to be, and suffers for it. PS4
Game Rant - Dalton Cooper 20 ~ 1 / 5 Being a smaller game than Darksiders 2 is the least of Darksiders 3‘s problems, though. The game is a nightmare to play through, with an unlikable protagonist, a chugging frame rate, and a mountain of bugs. It’s completely and utterly broken, but even when it works (which is almost never), it amounts to nothing more than a below average hack-and-slash with some decent puzzles. When THQ went out of business, there was worry that a new Darksiders game would never be made, but after the abomination that is Darksiders 3, some fans will be wishing that the franchise stayed dead. 2018.11.13 15:31 ThePsion GAP Trail Relay (Great Allegheny Passage)

It took me a while to write all this down, and it's long, but I figured, in case anyone in the future is interested searching for info about the GAP Trail Relay (since this was its first year), better to have it available.

Goal: Achieved?
Thank the volunteers Oh yeah
Get some sweet High 5's Amazingly so!
Have fun A blast!
Win the Sheetz Calorie Challenge No
Pre-race
We assembled our team, named Pace Oddity (as an homage to David Bowie’s Space Oddity) and thankfully, we were an awesome, easy-going team. There were organization meetings (with less than a week’s notice from the race organizer) and lots of revisions to the Runner’s Guide and race maps. Granted, this was the first year for it, but still, there were problems. Additionally, P3R had written in the Runner’s Guide that headphones were strictly prohibited, and that teams should be on the lookout for other teams violating safety rules and to ‘tattle’ on them. We got e-mail confirmation from P3R that we could, in fact, run with headphones, but to just be smart (only use one ear, etc.) but the ‘tattling’ thing left us with a bad taste in our mouth. Ultra running has more of a ‘runners against the course’ feel, not ‘runners against each other,’ and especially since there is zero prize money, this seemed out of place and against the spirit of running.
P3R, the week of the race, also provided two, uneditable PDFs to track your team’s time (one that had a heading for 8 runners, one that had a heading for 4). By this point, we already had a spreadsheet created that would auto update as we put in each leg’s start time, had nearby gas and food options, and we were set up with a Slack channel to keep everyone up to date. We joked that P3R was too busy making TWO PDFs, so they didn’t have the time to properly organize the race.
But still, our team rocked. We sadly had one member have to drop out two weeks before, but we found a replacement that day, and with adding her, four of us were from my Ultra Running Team (u/ midmoddest u/ miikermb u/ karmicbias), so that gave us a great base to build upon, mostly of doing incredibly stupid running things.
We also did two overnight runs, and I think that that helped us a ton! We met at 8 p.m. on two Fridays and ran different length loops until we were called it a night. The first night I ran three loops, about 16 miles and we finished around 1:30 a.m., the second I think we ran 18 until about 3 in the morning. We would run a loop, then back at the cars fuel, stretch a bit, try out different gear, and repeat. It was a lot of fun to run with friends at night, and gave us great practice for the evening legs. We even liked it so much we’re going to keep doing it!
Thursday
That week I finished packing up two totes, one for each van, assembled two binders with all the important information (as well as some fun car games to play), and we headed down to Cumberland. The drive down was uneventful, and we competed with the other van to see who could post the most beautiful picture in our Slack channel.
Cumberland is a beautiful little town, although the highways that cut through it make it a bit wonky to get around. Four of us stayed in a delightful little bed and breakfast, and as we found out, two members of a team we’d see a lot of, were staying downstairs. We walked over to packet pickup (after walking past it once) and got all of our gear, as well as a GoPro that we were asked to film with. The safety meeting was good, and afterwards we headed to the runner social at a local bar, which was a lot of fun. The bar had a tap takeover, and they ended up putting our team in their fancy, private dining room.
Pre-Leg 6
Friday morning, our team headed to the start line at 7 for an 8 a.m. start. We did a quick safety check and then cheered on the teams starting at 7:30. This is where some of the problems started. Our team was originally supposed to start at 10:30, but we got moved up. The idea was to have all the teams finish about the same time, so we all submitted our estimated paces. Our team was accurate (or at least as accurate as we could be, I suggested that we submit paces for each leg individually, an easy 4 mile leg will have a different pace than a hard 9 mile leg), but the organizer feared many underesteimated our times, so they moved many teams up earlier.
A group of (non race affiliated) cyclists show up to start a trek at 8 a.m., and P3R, instead of holding the three runners back, insist that they must start at 8 a.m. and after they head off towards Pittsburgh, the cyclists go past, creating a safety concern right off the bat.
The start line was neat though, with tons of coffee and donuts, and we met a few other teams we’d see throughout the day. We took off, having some time to kill before going to the first major exchange. We did our first Sheetz run, playing the calorie challenge. Each team was given one $25 Sheetz gift card…for two vehicles. So we decided to turn it into a game: how many calories can you get with your share of the $25? $3.12 per person (including all taxes on prepared food), or $2.77 for hard mode, including our drive+1/amazing husband of Fox who was in our van. I thought the milkshakes would be a good bet, but couldn’t find the price. Twizzler’s ended up being the winner: 2 for $3, 1,000 calories. A bemused customer asked us what we were doing, and after explaining the game, he did mention that mayo packets were free, so he might have won on a technicality!
We headed back to the first major exchange, we went there before Sheetz just to check it out, and when we returned, there were other teams there waiting. We parked, hung our Pace Oddity banner on the back of the van, and joined in some cardboard cutout dancing with another team. A very angry goose from the farm across the road was upset there were people here, and it wandered over to us to honk angrily. When we arrived at the exchange point the first time, we found a clue left in an envelope to some sort of treasure, and we took the extra time to look on a map where we think Fox would be able to find it. We also met a cyclist who bemoaned the idea of running something just to complete it, instead of competing to win. “Back in my day,” he told us, “I competed in Ragnars, I didn’t just run them.” We gleefully replied that we were there just to have fun.
The other van arrived, and we waited for Cat to come in, after having crossed the continental divide. She made some friends on her run (after having to chase her coat due to the wind) and they passed around some high fives as Fox took off. We said goodbye to the other van and hopped in, heading to the next exchange, where I’d be running.
Leg 6: Meyersdale to Garret
This was my first leg, and the exchange point was this really neat railroad museum! We took a few minutes to look around, and I wish I had picked up a GAP decal, so maybe if I’m down in that area, I’ll stop by again. There was also a local woman giving out free maple candy to the runners, which was awesome! And this exchange featured the largest port-a-potty I have ever seen in my life. There was a cordoned off section inside it was so big.
One of my goals at any race is always to get some sweet high fives, and this leg helped me check that off my list. Fox came in, slapped the bracelet on my wrist and off I went. The trail was really pretty, and it reminded me a bit of the trail from the Buffalo Creek Half. As I was headed down the path, there was a middle school class out on a hike, so I got a whole line of high fives from the kids, and only one snarky remark! Which, to be fair, was a lot less than I expected!
I passed over the Salisbury viaduct, which is over 1,900 feet long, which was also much higher than expected. Have I mentioned that I’m afraid of heights? This will come up again in Leg 22. It was still super windy at that point, and I took off my hat to avoid losing it. Once you cross the viaduct, there is a small family cemetery on the right, just four headstones, a bench and a small fence around the perimeter. I wish I would have stopped to take a photo, but I kept going, I wasn’t too far from my exchange.
Just to be safe, I didn’t put my one earphone in until well after I left, and I pulled it out (and hid them both) as I made my way into the exchange. I passed on the slap bracelet, with exuberance, to Mike, and he took off. I ran this leg significantly faster than I predicted (knowing I would, but also knowing my time would even out with the next two legs), and as a team, we were posting in Slack to update our spreadsheet, so it wasn’t an issue.
I refilled my water bottle and we headed off to meet Mike at the other end of his leg.
Pre-Leg 14
The exchange where we picked up Mike was really cool, and I got some good time talking with some of the other teams. I changed out of my running gear and Mike came in pretty quick. Jill took off an we headed towards the second major exchange at Markelton. This area was scary, mostly due to the fact that the owner of the land directly next to the trail decided this was the time to play with a giant rifle, which sounded like a canon each time it fired.
The parking lot at the exchange zone however was right next to a small river, and we spent some time playing on the rocks, which was a nice distraction. As a team, we volunteered to run with a GoPro to help P3R get some footage, and we believe at least one other team was doing the same. At check-in, they gave us a GoPro set up in Spanish, so we had to exchange that out. Then, as we discovered, it was set to such a high resolution that even after we charged the battery (it wasn’t full when we got it), we weren’t able to record all that much. So Fox, who had her laptop, downloaded the footage, and we reset the resolution to something lower. As we hung out at the exchange zone, we had some impromptu interviews and some footage of us enjoying the area.
Jill came in and handed off to Elizabeth and the second van was off (after taking down a hammock Jason had set up, which was genius). We wanted to grab something more substantial that Sheetz food, so we headed towards Ohiopyle and Confluence, eventually finding a restaurant that was open. The food was great, we read some children’s books about nightime animals and we saw four other teams all eating there too. We used their WiFi, and finally grabbed a picture with David Bowie on the deck before we headed to the next major exchange at Bruner Run.
Bruner Run was split into two, the lower lot next to the trail, and the larger, upper lot. We hung out in the upper lot and tried to catch some sleep, and as we got closer to when we were expecting Cat, we drove down to the lower lot. Because of the rain and space concerns, we were the last vehicle they allowed in, and the volunteer parked us in a mud pit. After getting two other cars to move, and with lots of pushing, we got unstuck and settled back onto firm ground.
Remember when P3R moved up all the runners? Well this is where shit started to hit the fan for us. Since we were moved up, we were now at the point in the race where we had caught up with the teams setting up the next exchanges. So along with us, 11 other teams were also held at the exchange and then all released at once. Fox took off, with Pooh Bear strapped to her back, along with the other runners. The rain continued, and we headed up the hill with Cat to drop off into the other van and then we headed to my next leg.
Leg 14: Connellsville to Dawson
This was my night run. At Connellsville, they had a spread of pizza set out for the teams. And by spread, I just mean a room of pizza, it really was just an obscene amount, so points to P3R for that. The volunteers at this exchange took a bunch of light up armbands and made running lights heading into the exchange zone, and I saw Fox come through the arch, slap me with the bracelet and off I went.
I was running with the GoPro, although there wasn’t much to be seen. I remember picking up glowsticks that had fallen off a runner in front of me, but otherwise, enjoying the stillness of the night. The trail took me next to a campground, as well as near some very large houses lit up by spotlights. I kept going, enjoying the mission of Zombies, Run! I was listening to, and loving the extra atmosphere. About a mile in, I looked behind me to see another headlamp in the dark, and I resolved to not let that runner pass me, so that kept me going. A different runner eventually zoomed past both of us, giving me “looking good” as he sped past, but otherwise, it was just the two of us on the trail.
There were campers out and drinking around a couple fires, but otherwise, it was just me in the woods, and I really loved it. My runner brain didn’t do math correctly, so by the time I thought I still had a mile left, I came around a bend and was at the exchange zone! I slapped off to Mike, and the volunteers gave me some warm apple cider! I stuck around to thank the runner who was behind me, telling her she kept me going, and she said the same, she kept close so she knew there was another person out there, so we ended up helping each other without realizing it!
Pre-Leg 22
We headed to Whitsett to pick up Mike and it is was my favorite exchange zone on the whole trail! Much like Homewood on the Pittsburgh Marathon, the community at Whitsett came out in force and welcomed us with open arms! The exchange zone was set up at a pavilion, and even in the rain, they had a big bonfire going right next to it, as well as a nice space heater under the shelter. The local Boy Scout troop made sandwiches and wraps, and there was homemade cocoa, hot coffee, drinks and chips waiting for us. The community members there even asked us to come back and visit when we weren’t racing! While we waited for Mike, I talked with the rep from the trail alliance a bit who we had met at the safety meeting. Mike came in, Jill took off and off we went to the next major exchange.
This major exchange was also a cluster. At this point, even more teams were ahead of the race setup crew due to the changing start times. I believe it was 15 teams that were held at this point, all in a very steady rain. As we huddled beneath the pavilion, we learned we had to wait until 3 a.m. to start, along with all but one other team (one team wasn’t starting until 3:30 since they were even more speedy!).
The teams finally took off, and we headed to a Flying J for a bit of a break. We had first thought about sitting down and getting some real food at the Denny’s, but realized we’d just fall asleep in the booth. So instead, we headed to the next major exchange at Boston and grabbed some sleep in the parking lot. We were one of the first vehicles there, and I remember opening my eyes and suddenly the place was busy!
The Boston fire department was awesome! They had a huge spread of food, and of course a warm area to be inside, as well as a DJ who was playing music in the hall. I stopped over at the PA American Water truck and talked with the guys, who were very impressed with all of us runners, and I got a free water bottle!
We eventually walked down to see Cat come in and Fox go out: van 1 was done! It was fun to see which of the other team’s runners were done, they were the ones really relaxing (one man, very smartly in a big robe) inside the hall. David Bowie got back in the van (I walked him down to the exchange zone to cheer on the runners) and we headed off to my exchange.

Reddit has a post length maximum, who knew? Check out the rest of my race report, including my last leg, the finish line and after party, here (sorry about that!)

Thoughts
There was a lot wrong with this race, but in the end, our team had an absolute blast. We were a great group of people, knowing we were going into a race to have a good time. Had you asked me that day if I would do it again, I would have said no. Now, I’d probably say yes. If we do the GAP again I’d want to do different legs, or there is a Ragnar race (points for being better run) that runs the C&O Towpath from Cumberland to D.C., so we’d get to see the second half of the trail!
Either way though, it was a great adventure, and I’m so glad we did it!

2018.05.09 22:34 mmmasian The Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, with new information from Avengers: Infinity War

Hey guys,
During Avengers: Infinity War, Tony Stark remarks that it's been 6 years since The Battle of New York. This is in line with the Joe Russo interview that they flubbed the date in Homecoming.
We know from his Phase One Box S.H.I.E.L.D. file that Tony Stark's birthday is May 29th. This file also makes an appearance at the end of Iron Man II.
We also know that Iron Man II starting at Tony's birthday, Incredible Hulk, and Thor take place in the same week from May 29th, 2009 to June 4th, 2009.
The earliest that The Avengers can take place, and for it to make the most sense with Civil War and Homecoming, is June or July 2012 (since we witness Bruce Banner having a controlled transformation 31 days later at the end of The Incredible Hulk). It's stated that Bruce hasn't had a transformation in over a year, but it's unclear if they're referring to Harlem. Nick Fury states at 1:08:00 in The Avengers that the events with Thor happened last year.
This is where things get hairy - what year do Civil War, Black Panther, and Spider-Man: Homecoming take place? After a lot of research, I've come to the conclusion that 2017 is indeed correct, and I have a lot of in-depth evidence on why.
Jason and Betty make it clear that the events in Washington D.C. happen over a weekend. We know the dates of the Decathalon are October 13th - 15th. 2017 is the ONLY year where these dates would make sense.
At approximately 1:09:00 into the film, Karen pulls of Aaron Davis's file who is listed at 33 years old, with a birth date of April 1984.
Black Panther gives us a few, but important, clues as well. We know that it takes place one week after Civil War.
What's really interesting is the Busan Car Chase and the fact that the 2018 Lexus GS F (Nakia's vehicle) and the 2018 Lexus LC 500 (Shuri's vehicle) did not exist in 2016.
A small detail to note is that I still don't believe Doctor Strange takes place after Civil War due to Wong's comments about The Avengers being one of Earth's last lines of defense in Doctor Strange. Seems odd to give that kind of credit to what would be a 3-man team of Iron Man, War Machine (depending on when he recovered), and Vision.
I'd say the timeline we're looking at is:
1943 - 1946 - Captain America (64 - 67 years before Iron Man, Official MCU Timeline)
February - November 2010 - Iron Man (Tony Stark announces "I am Iron Man" in November 2010)
May 29th - June 4th, 2011 - Iron Man II, Incredible Hulk, Thor (6 months after Iron Man, Official MCU Timeline)
Summer 2012 - The Avengers (Natasha says it's been more than a year since Banner last Hulked out)
Christmas 2012 - Iron Man 3 (numerous instances of current events taking place 13 years after 12/31/1999)
2013 - Thor: The Dark World (Darcy mentions it's been "like two years" since Jane Foster saw Thor in person)
October 2013 - Captain America: The Winter Soldier (During the live feed while Pierce is interrogating Steve after Fury's "death", the video is marked 10/12/2013)
2014 - Guardians of the Galaxy (26 years later, after 1988), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (two months after the first film)
2015 - Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man
February 2016 - February 2017 - Doctor Strange (Award is dated 2016 and watch is set for 02/02/16 the night of his accident. Director Scott Derrickson says events take over the place of a year.)
August 2017 - Captain America: Civil War (2 months before Spider-Man: Homecoming)
August 2017 - Black Panther (Beginning of the movie takes place 1 week after Civil War)
October 2017 - Spider-Man: Homecoming
2017 - Thor Ragnarok (Thor says it's been 2 years since he and Hulk fought against Ultron)
2018 - Thor Ragnarok Post-Credits Scene, Avengers: Infinity War (6 years after The Avengers)
Edit: Guys, the patient that Doctor Strange is discussing is not Rhodey. That's what I originally thought too, but the director has gone on record to say that it's NOT War Machine. They call him a 35 year old Air Force Colonel, and Rhodey, while good looking, isn't 35.
It's more than likely one of the experimental suits that Hammer or another competing were working on.

2018.05.09 22:29 mmmasian The Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, with new information from Avengers: Infinity War

Hey guys,
During Avengers: Infinity War, Tony Stark remarks that it's been 6 years since The Battle of New York.

2018.04.18 09:52 AspieGamer13 SMB Weekly (2018/04/09-2018/04/15)

Edition 127
SMB Weekly will be a weekly newsletter posted sometime after Midnight EDT/EST Monday* covering things Monday-Sunday. If I miss anything in the newsletter, please post below and I'll add it in. The date format is yeamonth/day, to prevent any dispute between US and UK standards. If a video release is borderline between two days, I'm using Eastern Time, because that's my time zone. I'm trying to make the time zones more universally understandable. Stream schedule originally copied as posted on Mixer, with both UTC and PST/PDT (it has been pointed out that I should NOT be using UTC and GMT interchangeably), with EST/EDT and BST added when applicable. Pacific Time is the "base" time for most streams. I should proofread this paragraph more frequently.

2017.10.03 19:41 Fisher_v_Bell [Unclaim] It's not goodbye, it's see you next week

I've decided to leave House Massey in order to focus on my new role as House Arryn in /SevenKingdoms. It was my first claim on ITP, and with only one exception, it's been the claim I've stuck with throughout my time here. While pains my heart to release them into the Unclaimed wilderness, playing a Great House will take up most of my effort from here on out, and I would not be doing the family justice by stifling them with borderline-inactivity.
If anyone wishes to carry the triple spiral banner in the future, everything you need to know about House Massey is below:
My personal subreddit has all the birth/trait/personality rolls for all the members of House Massey to be born under my tenure - that is to say, almost all of them. Their sections of the Player Almanac and Appearance Almanac are also up to date, so all the basic info can be found there as well.
There's also this sexy House History record that I've been compiling over the past 6 months. It details all the main events that the members of House Massey were involved in from 327AC to 343AC. It's quite long and not all of it is critically important, but is a good resource for anyone who wants to get a handle on each character's mannerisms and outlook on life.

Basic Overview

  • Lord Bennard Massey: In his late middle ages. Has a sturdy build, but is somewhat fat. In a loving marriage with his long-time wife, Alicent of the Sunhouse Hightowers. He's jovial and outgoing, but also loud, overbearing, and brash. Bennard thinks highly of Houses Velaryon and Sunglass, and is completely loyal to House Targaryen.
  • Maryam Celtigar (nee Massey): 1st child and only daughter of Lord Bennard. Highly interested in history and other academic pursuits, but tends to offend people by not thinking when she speaks. Currently married to Aemon Celtigar, the heir to Claw Isle, and has a 1 year-old daughter and newborn son by him. She is very preoccupied with being seen as a true part of House Celtigar, a feeling that has been satisfied by birthing two heirs for her husband. Maryam suffered a severe complication in her last childbirth, making her unable to conceive any more children.
  • Triston Massey: 1st son and heir of Lord Bennard. Quiet, cerebral, and unsure of his leadership abilities. Squired for Ser Gerold Hightower at Cider Hall for his teenage years, and came to see him as a 2nd father. Gerold died in a joust when Triston was 18, leaving him distraught. While Triston is related to the Hightowers by blood and upbringing, he feels no fondness for the main Oldtown branch (mostly because when he met Gerold's sisters and Lord Leyton Hightower right after his mentor's death, none of them seemed particularly upset). Triston chafes under his father's controlling demeanour, but is too afraid to stand up to him. He is currently living at Stonedance, and is married to Alyssa Peake with one son.
  • Jason Massey: The only child of Triston and Alyssa, and the grandson of Lord Bennard. Jason is 3 years old. He likes to eat lemon cakes, and occasionally spills jugs of water on himself by accident.
  • Eldon Massey: The 2nd son of Lord Bennard. Eldon was sent to King's Landing to squire for Corwyn Corbray, then LC of the City Watch. He nearly died when the Sealskin Plague hit the city, and has suffered from weak lungs and fragile health ever since. Slowly slid into depression while stuck at a desk job for the City Watch, but regained a sense of purpose when Lord Corwyn referred him to become King Vaemar's new Royal Scribe - a position he holds today.
Eldon is now slowly trying to work his way up the ladder of KL Powers. He has a guarded and suspicious personality, and is not a charmer or an ass-kisser. He assumes that if he keeps his head down and works hard, he'll eventually be rewarded. He is utterly loyal to King Vaemar (though he's only spoken to him a couple times), as well as Lord Corbray (who is the main reason he sits on the Small Council today). He also thinks well of Ser Wallace Wylde and Lord Hand Aerion Sunglass, from whom he's gotten some advice on political matters.
  • Tommen Massey: 3rd son of Lord Bennard. Hasn't been written much; is basically a spare son in case the rest of the House dies off. Warded with House Velaryon in childhood, now back at Stonedance. Absentminded and sweet.
  • Eliza Bar Emmon (nee Massey): Younger sister and only living sibling of Lord Bennard. Long married to Marcel Bar Emmon, the Lord of Sharp Point, and has 5 children by him. Generally content with life.
Well, that's about it. See you all on the other side!

N.Y. DAILY NEWS: Trump’s new NY HUD director planned Eric Trump’s wedding, has no housing experience -- DEMS drub GOP at baseball game -- A RECORD 24,959 tickets sold -- PENCE hires McGuireWoods’ Cullen -- B’DAY: Bres

Good Friday morning. THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: “President Trump chooses inexperienced woman who planned his son Eric’s wedding to run N.Y. federal housing programs,” by Greg Smith: “She’s arranged tournaments at Trump golf courses, served as the liaison to the Trump family during his presidential campaign, and even arranged Eric Trump’s wedding. Now President Trump has appointed longtime loyalist Lynne Patton -- who has zero housing experience and claims a law degree the school says she never earned -- to run the office that oversees federal housing programs in New York.
“Patton was appointed Wednesday to head up the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Region II, which includes New York and New Jersey, where she’ll oversee distribution of billions of taxpayer dollars. Patton’s tight relationship with the Trump clan dates back to 2009, when she began serving as the family’s ‘event planner.’ … She also claims on her LinkedIn page to have obtained a juris doctorate degree in 2000 from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Connecticut. Next to the J.D. notation is written (N/A) without explanation. On Thursday school registrar Jim Benson said Patton attended for two semesters but did not graduate. She also listed Yale University but HUD officials couldn’t explain why that was there. Patton, who begins her Region II job July 5, did not return calls seeking comment.
“As head of the biggest HUD regional office in the U.S., Patton will oversee distribution of billions in cash to public housing authorities -- including NYCHA -- as well as tens of thousands of rental vouchers and block grants that fund housing inspections and senior citizen programs.” http://nydn.us/2sikxU8
-- N.Y. DAILY NEWS COVER: “She planned Eric Trump’s nups & falsely touts law degree. Now Prez has decided new housing boss in N.Y. is ... THE WEDDING SCAMMER” http://nydn.us/2turnp6
-- LYNNE’S LinkedIn page says she has the following specialties: “Public Engagement, Community Outreach & Revitalization, Strategic Networking, High-Net Worth Fundraising, Client Ambassador, Celebrity Talent Acquisition, Event Planning, Promotions, Social Media Strategy, Philanthropic Auctions & Tournaments, Public & Media Relations.” http://bit.ly/2ryfdiE
THE U.S. is sending 4,000 more troops to Afghanistan, per the AP. http://apne.ws/2s88SsE Donald Trump ran for president saying he’d end foreign entanglements. PRESIDENT TRUMP is going to Miami today to announce changes to the U.S. policy toward Cuba.
FLASH -- AP at 5:09 a.m.: “Russia claims it has killed IS leader al-Baghdadi,” by Bassem Mroue in Beirut and Vladimir Isachenkov in Moscow: “The Russian Defense Ministry said Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a Russian strike in late May along with other senior group commanders. There had been previous reports of al-Baghdadi being killed but they did not turn out to be true. The IS leader last released an audio on Nov. 3, urging his followers to keep up the fight for Mosul as they defend the city against a major offensive that began weeks earlier. The spokesman for the U.S.-led anti-IS coalition said in a statement Friday he could not confirm the Russian claim.” http://apne.ws/2rCXIJ5
THE CONGRESSIONAL BASEBALL SCORE -- 11-2, DEMOCRATS WIN.
RACHAEL BADE and KYLE CHENEY bring us the scene from the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park: “Rodney Davis stood in the shadow of the Nationals Park scoreboard and wiped away a tear. Just a day earlier, the Republican congressman from Illinois — and catcher for the Republican congressional baseball team -- watched his colleague Steve Scalise, the House majority whip, get shot on a practice baseball field in Virginia, while other lawmakers and aides scrambled for cover. …
“‘This is what our country needs after such a tragic act,’ said Davis, his arm still scabbed and scraped from diving away from the gunman’s bullets on Wednesday….Florida Democrat Charlie Crist was spotted walking around in a suit, a young staffer trailing him carrying his suit jacket.” http://politi.co/2ttQWGH
-- COLD WATER ALERT. This is a kumbaya moment -- and we’d emphasize moment. It is, of course, impossible to predict the future. Remember: a gunman shot then-Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords in the head. Nothing changed. We’re skeptical much will change this time. Speaker Paul Ryan told Jake Tapper on CNN that “we can have different ideas without being vitriolic.” Yes, they can. But there is no evidence to show they will. We hope we’re wrong.
TAPPER had a joint interview with Ryan and Nancy Pelosi, and Anderson Cooper had Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer. A good night for CNN.
-- COOPER got this gem of an interaction. Classic line from McConnell when asked about Trump calling the investigation a witch hunt: COOPER: "President Trump made a statement last night with Congressman Scalise. It was getting bipartisan praise for his tone. Today tweeting about -- calling this a witch hunt against him, just talking about the people leading it being disturbed, I think was his term, or conflicted. Is that appropriate? MCCONNELL: "I typically don't comment on the president's tweeting habits." COOPER: "Do you think it is a witch hunt?" MCCONNELL: "I don't have any observations about that. We had here an example of a horrendous event that we all condemn, and we're here together tonight to make the point to the American people that there's a whole lot of cooperation in the Congress, even though it may not be covered, on a daily basis."
THE WHITE HOUSE SHOWED UP! -- “At congressional baseball game, newfound unity has its limits,” by Yahoo’s Hunter Walker: “As she talked to Yahoo News, [Kellyanne] Conway spotted top White House adviser Gary Cohn, who was in a dark suit. She called Cohn over. ‘Look how Gary Cohn dresses for a baseball game. He dresses like Gary Cohn! Gary come here!’ Conway beckoned. ‘He came out of the womb looking like that,’ quipped Mulvaney as Cohn strolled over. ‘This is New York chic,’ said Cohn, a former Goldman Sachs banker. As Cohn posed for photos with Conway, Mulvaney reached over and put an LSU hat on his head. Cohn couldn’t see the cap. ‘Does it make me a hillbilly?’ Cohn asked. ‘We couldn’t make you a hillbilly if we tried,’ Mulvaney said.” https://yhoo.it/2ttWtNu
NYT NATIONAL BASEBALL WRITER TYLER KEPNER on the game. Good nugget: “A record 24,959 tickets were sold for the charity exhibition -- a higher attendance than Thursday’s major league games in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota and Oakland.” http://nyti.ms/2rmUQAK

THE LATEST ON SCALISE -- RACHAEL BADE: “House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, the Louisiana Republican shot during a congressional baseball practice Wednesday, is doing better but remains in critical condition and will be hospitalized for an extended period of time, according to a statement from his doctors. MedStar Washington Hospital Center said in a statement Thursday evening that Scalise underwent another surgery ‘related to his internal injuries and a broken bone in his leg.’ ‘He remains in critical condition, but has improved in the last 24 hours,’ the statement said. ‘The Congressman will require additional operations, and will be in the hospital for some time. At the request of the family, we will continue to provide periodic updates.’” Bade on the emotional times on the Hillhttp://politi.co/2swDk15
-- KEY LINE HERE: Scalise will be hospitalized for an “extended period of time.” This will be a long recovery.
THE NEXT FRONTIER -- “Rattled by shooting, lawmakers want more personal protection,” by Seung Min Kim and Rachael Bade: “Lawmakers are debating a range of heightened security measures following Wednesday’s shooting that critically injured House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, with a growing number of Republicans even seeking to carry their own guns into the Capitol for personal safety. Rattled by the mass shooting by a gunman with an apparent political agenda, lawmakers are struggling with how to balance ensuring security for members of Congress while keeping themselves accessible to voters.
“The gamut of options includes new rules ramping up the law enforcement presence at big group events with lawmakers, equipping Capitol Police with more advanced weapons, and allowing individual members to spend taxpayer or campaign dollars on personal security measures. And several GOP lawmakers want the green light to bring their personal firearms onto Capitol grounds, a move that immediately alarmed Democrats who favor tougher gun restrictions.” http://politi.co/2ry7KQy
-- MANY LAWMAKERS have mused about each getting their own Capitol Police officer. But that would be a hugely pricey government expense.
ON THE ALLEGED GUNMAN -- “Scalise Gunman Dodged 2006 Charge That Would Bar Gun Purchases,” by Bloomberg’s Ari Natter: “James Hodgkinson, 66, was arrested after a 2006 incident in which he was accused of beating his foster daughter, according to court records. The case crumbled after the victim decided not to testify ... Under federal law, someone found guilty of domestic battery of a family member can be barred from legally owning a firearm.” https://bloom.bg/2ttKeR1
WAPO’S ASHLEY PARKER, the pride of Montgomery County, scooped that Vice President Mike Pence has hired Richard Cullen, the chairman of McGuireWoods, to represent him. http://wapo.st/2s7VoNEMATT NUSSBAUM reminds us that McGuireWoods also once employed Jim Comey! And the firm also currently represents former Rep. Aaron Schock, who is facing 24 counts of criminal charges related to alleged crimes during his time in office.
SCOOP -- “Trump transition officials ordered to save Russia documents,” by Josh Dawsey: “Aides and volunteers on Donald Trump’s presidential transition were instructed Thursday to save any records related to ‘several pending investigations into potential attempts by Russia interests to influence the 2016 election,’ according to a memo provided to POLITICO. In the memo from a transition lawyer, campaign officials were told to preserve all documents related to the Russian Federation, Ukraine and a number of campaign advisers and officials, including former campaign manager Paul Manafort, advisers Carter Page, Rick Gates and Roger Stone, and former national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn.” http://politi.co/2sFQA36
-- GOLDEN BOY ALERT: “Special counsel is investigating Jared Kushner’s business dealings,” by WaPo’s Sari Horowitz, Matt Zapotosky and Adam Entous: “FBI agents and federal prosecutors have also been examining the financial dealings of other Trump associates, including former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Carter Page, who was listed as a foreign-policy adviser for the campaign.” http://wapo.st/2shPVCa
THE PUSHBACK --“Rosenstein prods media for ‘anonymous allegations’ on Russia probe,” by Darren Samuelsohn: “A top Trump Justice Department official issued an unusual, vague statement Thursday night, casting doubt on a series of recent media reports detailing Special Counsel Robert Mueller's growing probe into the Trump campaign for potential collusion with Russia in the 2016 campaign. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appeared to be taking issue with recent Washington Post and New York Times stories that President Donald Trump himself is now the subject of an obstruction of justice probe, as well as a separate new report from the Post that Mueller is looking into White House senior adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner’s finances. ...
"’Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous ‘officials,’ particularly when they do not identify the country - let alone the branch or agency of government - with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated,’ Rosenstein said. ‘Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations. The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations.’
“Rosenstein’s statement caught many in Washington off guard, in part because it was so generic and didn't actually specify which news reports it was addressing. It’s also notable because of who issued it: With Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused from all things related to the Russia probe, Rosenstein as the No. 2 DOJ official has the reins over the Mueller probe. He’ll get Mueller’s budget and he also has the power to block major investigative steps -- with the caveat he must report to Congress if that happens.” http://politi.co/2ttUBEo
[email protected]: “The Washington Post has updated the Kushner story to reflect the officials cited are indeed U.S. officials.”
JOSH DAWSEY, “White House aides fret over Trump’s Russia probe obsession”: “The greatest threat to Trump and his presidency, say administration officials and outside advisers, comes from his own conduct and obsessive behavior after he took office. While congressional and FBI investigations may prove Trump or his team broke laws before he took office, his advisers say they’re more worried that the things he’s done since the inauguration may have left him exposed to obstruction of justice or other charges. Trump, for months, has bristled almost daily about the ongoing probes. He has sometimes, without prompting, injected. ‘I’m not under investigation’ into conversations with associates and allies. He has watched hours of TV coverage every day -- sometimes even storing morning news shows on his TiVo to watch in the evening -- and complained nonstop.” http://politi.co/2sFWm4N
THE COUNSEL -- “Mueller, Known for Being Above the Fray, Is Now in the Thick of It,” by NYT’s Scott Shane and Charlie Savage: “Veterans of past Washington battles on the borders of law and politics said that the president’s pushback was to be expected, but that its ferocity and timing were unusual. Just one month into the job, Mr. Mueller has not yet finished hiring staff members or installing a computer network -- deliberately segregated from the main Justice Department -- in the Patrick Henry Building in downtown Washington.
“‘It’s early in the game to begin to impugn the prosecutors,’ said Philip Allen Lacovara, a Watergate prosecutor and a Republican. ‘It’s a pre-emptive nuclear strike. If you’re afraid of what the prosecutors are going to find out, you try to debunk anything they might come up with in advance by attacking them.’” http://nyti.ms/2shLOX2
JUST POSTED -- POLITICO MAGAZINE'S TIM ALBERTA: "Man on a Wire: Mike Pence’s Tightrope Act... He might be the most consequential vice president ever. He could well be the next commander in chief. And the one person in America he can’t have thinking about that is his boss." http://politi.co/2tunArX
SHOCKING! -- “Senate likely to miss its Obamacare repeal deadline,” by Jen Haberkorn: “Senate Republicans are getting dangerously close to missing their deadline to hold a Senate health care vote by month’s end, potentially derailing fulfillment of their seven-year-old campaign promise to repeal Obamacare. The Senate left Washington on Thursday with a seemingly insurmountable health care to-do list: When they return on Monday, Republicans will have just two weeks before the Fourth of July recess to overcome the remaining big divides on policy – including what year to roll back Medicaid expansion and how deeply to cut the program that covers health care for low-income people. They also must settle on how to bring down health insurance premiums and when to cut the taxes that paid for Obamacare -- not to mention the vexing issue of whether to defund Planned Parenthood.” http://politi.co/2rDiWGu
ALEX ISENSTADT, “GOP sirens blaze over Georgia special election”: “The GOP is bracing for the prospect of a loss in Tuesday’s Georgia’s special election that could have far-reaching implications for President Donald Trump and his party’s fortunes in 2018. As grim confidential polling data circulates among GOP strategists, interviews with nearly two dozen Republican operatives and officials reveal that they are preparing for the possibility of an unnerving defeat that could spur lawmakers to distance themselves from Trump and his already-troubled legislative agenda, and potentially encourage a wave of retirements. ...
“While Republicans privately lampoon Ossoff’s campaign skills -- deriding him as an inexperienced, talking-point driven candidate -- they acknowledge his cash advantage has made him a lethal opponent. ‘We’re going to find out if a monkey banging cymbals together spending $25 million can get elected,’ the NRCC’s executive director John Rogers told a group of Capitol Hill chiefs of staff this week, said one person present for the meeting. His meaning was clear to those in attendance: Ossoff might seem like a mechanical candidate, but he had to be taken seriously.” http://politi.co/2rxCDoc

FASCINATING LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES -- “At Last, Jeff Bezos Offers a Hint of His Philanthropic Plans,” by NYT’s Robert Frank: Jeff Bezos, the founder and chief executive of Amazon, is well on his way to becoming the richest person in the world, with a net worth of more than $80 billion. What’s less certain is what he plans to do with his fortune, and how he could reinvent philanthropy.
“On Thursday, after questions from The New York Times about the level of his giving, Mr. Bezos posted on Twitter a ‘request for ideas’ for philanthropy. ‘I’m thinking about a philanthropy strategy that is the opposite of how I mostly spend my time -- working on the long term,’ he wrote. ‘For philanthropy, I find I’m drawn to the other end of the spectrum: the right now.’” http://nyti.ms/2rncunL
TRUMP INC. -- “With shift on Cuba, Trump could undercut his company’s hotel-industry rivals,” by WaPo’s Drew Harwell and Jonathan O'Connell: “[A]s the owner of a real estate company with a big stake in hotels and resorts, Trump brings an added element to an issue that is unique to his presidency — the ability, through his official actions, to undermine a growth area for his industry rivals who have raced in recent years to establish a foothold in a lucrative new market. Starwood Hotels and Resorts, which merged with Marriott International to form the world’s largest hotel chain, last year debuted the first Cuban hotel managed by a U.S. company in nearly 60 years, taking advantage of President Barack Obama’s 2014 move to normalize relations with Cuba and lighten regulations enforcing the U.S. embargo on the island.” http://wapo.st/2sFYZUg
K-STREET FILES -- “Sudan Ramps Up Washington Lobbying as Sanctions Deadline Looms,” by Bloomberg’s Jen Jacobs and Nick Wadhams: “Sudan is on the cusp of ending its long status as a pariah in Washington, and the African nation is bolstering its stable of lobbyists to ensure that it happens soon. The government of President Umar al-Bashir -- which is listed by the U.S. as a state sponsor of terrorism -- has hired Washington law firm Squire Patton Boggs LLP at a cost of $40,000 a month to lobby on its behalf as part of its accelerating campaign to ensure that President Donald Trump permanently lifts sanctions against the country ahead of a deadline next month, according to a filing with the Justice Department.” https://bloom.bg/2t8WIhP
BREAKING LATE LAST NIGHT -- “Trump won’t alter status of current Dreamers,” by Josh Gerstein: “President Donald Trump’s administration has issued its most explicit promise to date that so-called Dreamers can keep their permission to work legally in the U.S. ‘No work permits will be terminated prior to their current expiration dates,’ the Department of Homeland Security said in guidance posted on its website Thursday night. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly has said recently that the administration is not seeking to deport those who received quasi-legal status under a policy President Barack Obama adopted in 2012. However, the new statement from DHS seems to be a forward-looking promise not to take action against those in the program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA, an initiative for undocumented immigrants who entered the country as children.” http://politi.co/2shGwLc

HOW A STREET IN BROOKLYN IS CHANGING THE ENERGY GRID: The shared economy is flourishing, with companies like Airbnb and Lyft capitalizing on the growing popularity of shared services. Can their success be replicated in the energy industry? In the latest installment of POLITICO Magazine’s “What Works” series, we look at Brooklyn-based LO3 that devised a micro grid system that uses a phone app and smart meters to enable neighbors with solar panels to strike deals amongst themselves on the amount of electricity they buy from each other and at what price. We also look at the revitalization of Tampa, Florida – a broken down deep water port revitalized after 40 years of public and private investment. • [Day 211.8 Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • {{ George Webb is with Jason Goodman }}
    • Okay. Day 2:11 broadcasting live from Washington DC
    • There he is
    • {{ Ben Franklin, Capitol Lounge sign}}
    • Right off of ... the Congress down there Senate on this side Congress house on that side
    • So Jason's gotten away from tinder...oh all the 20 year olds that
    • JASON: no no cut cut
    • No keep going don't wanna meet the spider-man sweetie don't go there
    • JASON: no
    • So that's that's not going to happen
    • What we've done tonight is really trying to take the Awan Brothers story, and the other stories were working on, and try to introduce them to the staffers
    • Today all of our objective was to go to the Congressional staff, that people who might not be aware of the Awan situation, and take that story to them.
    • We ended up meeting a couple of members of Congress having nice while
    • JASON: kind of amazing just sitting here how many people came by...CNN people...and
    • Phil Mattingly we had a good conversation with Phil Mattingly, and Jason didn't
    • JASON: I didn't call it fake news all I wanted to
    • It was all I could do to hold him back--holding it back no no Jason, no don't say fake news
    • JASON: if it was Jake Tapper I would have.
    • Jake Tapper would come out of his chair
    • But. So so the point is--and all this stuff we're not trying to be conspiracy theorists we're trying to be very detailed sources and citations fact-based
    • JASON: factual analysis
    • And I think--Jason had a good time with all these Republican kids, that were their staffers
    • JASON: well I'm not Republican.
    • GEORGE: I know you're not
    • JASON: I just, you know--what stood out to me was that intelligent Millennials--they don't fall into the just buying the line. They're doing their own research. They're interested in doing the right thing. I mean we met some really nice young people tonight who are here in Washington DC, because they want to make a difference. And we were talking about Awan Brothers, and they had never heard about that before. We gave them a lot of information, and we weren't telling them "just listen to what we say," we said, "investigate," and hopefully they'll share the information in a way that can make a difference.
    • GEORGE: yeah and I think what I came away with is how data-driven these kids are.
    • They are not like you said, "oh I must do what Hillary says. I am this robot that's going to be dominated by some outside pressure group"
    • At least that's what I felt.
    • JASON: Well it's super interesting to see the reaction, because I feel like when I talk to people who are 60-70 etc, they just think any of this is "conspiracy theory", it's nonsense, they get up the --cognitive dissonance gets going, and they just get angry. But younger people like they are open to the idea. They sort of know they're lives meaningful[sic]there's lies being told, and they want to get to the facts. I think we really could be at the precipice of a really important change, where--I think we met future senators tonight
    • GEORGE: yeah. So I think we met maybe five or six congressional staffs just sitting here, and like I said we met Bill Keating of Massachusetts,
    • JASON: Vargas was really nice
    • GEORGE: Vargas from California and--Vargas was just degree, completely gracious
    • JASON: yeah
    • GEORGE: very unctuous politician, smooth as suave-ay. Mucho suave-ay
    • JASON: yeah--Rico-Suav-ay
    • GEORGE: Rico Suav-ey. And Bill Keating, I mean he all he wanted to know--because, you know, Two Jews--all he wanted to know was--he had 70% of Sharon, and I think Sharon is oh oh no no Sharon's about 70% Jewish, and he got 90, and he was wondering like how do I get to 95?
    • So that was nice--and I really I don't know I came away I know today was a first CUT--I had a couple hours here along congressional row
    • But I came away with the fact that we did get the message across--there's 300 million people out there, but then there's--535 that way, or 545 or whatever, and that's the important side of things. {{ Points ta Congress }}
    • JASON: This is a grassroots whisper campaign right here
    • GEORGE: Whisper campaign--that's a good way to say it, yeah.
    • And I think the whisper is:
    • JASON: {{ Sidling }} "Hey....have you heard of the Awans?"
    • GEORGE: Yeah: "have you heard of the Awans" and also, I think "Seth Rich"
    • JASON: Yeah
    • GEORGE: I was surprised nobody knew who Rich was // right // how could you be on Capitol Hill right now // I know // with with Sean or not Sean Hannity so much but--Newt Gingrich--talking about
    • JASON: well because it gets it gets dismissed as a conspiracy theory, and people just think it's crazy
    • GEORGE: just dismiss it
    • So all in all, day one, for this. I think it was good day one.
    • JASON: Absolutely
    • GEORGE: All right, well thank you everybody for comments and questions.
    • And we'll maybe do it again tomorrow. Who knows?
    • We're going to try to get to the Podesta hearing tomorrow
    • He's testifying I guess? I don't know he was what
    • JASON: Can we get into that?
    • GEORGE: I don't know--I guess you went crazy today at Twitter
    • JASON: I think he went crazy a long time ago
    • GEORGE But today was like Trump's uh.. needed
    • JASON: In all seriousness, I think that indicates that pressure on him is ratcheting up. He knows that evidence is mounting. Their story is built on quicksand. // Yeah // And he's a desperate man who knows he is maybe at the end of the line.
    • GEORGE: Feeling some pressure. I mean I definitely feel like this may be a changing the guard here. I mean, I know I'm a little bit optimistic, a little bit overly hopeful sometimes, but I feel like maybe there's a changing the guard
    • JASON: yeah yeah
    • GEORGE: Okay. Well day one. Who knows--
    • We're Street politics I guess right
    • JASON: yeah!
    • GEORGE: All right yeah, the **whisper campaign* -- all right.
    • Thanks for everybody for watching
    • We're going to close down here Washington DC
  • [Day 212 - Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • Okay. Day 212
    • Maybe we've reached something of a boiling point here with Manchester
    • Seth Rich is no longer allowed to be trending on Twitter I hear
    • I think it was trending in Europe--there was a very activist community in Europe
    • I'm not saying the two are related
    • But I am saying that building IEDs is something that you trained for in a terrorist camp or CIA camp, like the Tsarnaevs in the Boston bombing.
    • You don't train for that in high school or community college
    • So it's just like the double garrotting in being taught in Plainfield, Indiana, at the National Islamic Center--which is really more of a radical Pakistani Center--
    • You're going to get double-garrotting if you teach it.
    • You're going to get IED bombs, if you teach that.
    • And this way of controlling a public opinion is a very 1970s, kind-of Kissinger-oriented kind-of look at the world
    • And it it only causes blowback eventually.
    • People realize what's happening, and it only causes more energy to be applied to the investigation
    • The difference between our news analysis, and our news reporting, and that is: this is news that you can do something about
    • You could take something and I say do a query, do a search, and come back to me with something, that's going to move this investigation forward
    • We're going to look at the officers we don't get the six officers that were the arresting officers in the Seth Rich case
    • We're going to look at the doctor who saw him that MedStar when he came in.
    • We're going to look at Eric Braverman's residence here in Washington DC
    • These are all things I can do right now today, rather than just sit back and say, "oh my the Manchester bombing is really overwhelming,"
    • And keep those leads coming
    • I will run every one of them down
    • And this will be solved
  • [Day 212.2 Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • Okay. Day 212 this is part 2
    • I think investigation now moves to the doctor. Someone told me just about two minutes ago that the doctor's connected to Heather Podesta
    • Now Heather Podesta obviously is very connected to the DC police
    • I was also told the DC police didn't do anything, anything.
    • It just got filed as a robbery % riches death and then got shelved
    • So Wayne Madsen believe it or not is in this game now--he's reporting
    • And he reported that there was nobody that asked anybody anything at the bar
    • So if you were trying to set up on somebody and conspire to kill somebody and you had met with him at the bar, and tried to buy him drinks, find out where he lived, how much money he had, and flashing his wallet etc, which are obvious set of--prelims to robbing somebody,
    • But you would probably be at the bar that he was at for five hours, maybe.
    • Maybe there's the killer there.
    • Why wouldn't you ask for the film?
    • Why wouldn't you ask for the film the bar?
    • Why wouldn't you talk to the people at the bar and ask them if they'd noticed anybody suspicious?
    • These are just simple things
    • So those things don't make sense
    • So WND, Wayne Madison's channel reported that
    • So it's good to see Wayne back in the game
    • Hopefully Wayne will perceive me as someone trying to help
    • Someone said that the reward is not enough, at one hundred and thirty thousand, that it needs to go to 250 before people take that chance--I don't know about that at all--what the strike price is for when people decide to get involved and do the right thing
    • But anyway the DC police. There's another connection between Podesta, John Podesta and the one of the first officers there, which was [Robert] Wingate Robinson
    • I can't remember his first name {{ robert }} but [Robert] Windgate Robinson--and these two come combined conglomerated names always make me think CIA--but anyway,
    • He was running-back at Georgetown, Windgate Robinson was
    • And he just always seems to be the arresting officer at these things to me.
    • Of course they're wearing a body camera, but of course it's not available
    • So there's a connection to Podesta there
    • Some people say his wife was an operative for Hillary Clinton--Windgate Robinson's wife was an operator for Hillary Clinton.
    • We don't know
    • So we'll just have to research all those things
  • [Day 212.3. Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • Okay. At 7th and Pennsylvania Avenue
    • You can see Winfield Scott if everybody remembers the Anaconda plan. I still think that was the best plan for the Civil War
    • But behind me is the National Archives--Scooter Libby! Remember when Hillary brought all the Arkanciders to Washington?
    • You had to get rid of all the Arkanciders because now you have ATF is your new enforcers, so you got to get rid of those guys.
    • Once those guys are gone, of course Vince Foster was kill-the-killer and that's all done.
    • And now Podesta is the new guy
    • So. Anyway. Going up Pennsylvania Avenue right now, past the White House 1600 and then to 2220
    • To WND, I made a mistake this morning--I somehow associated Wayne Madsen with WND it's not.
    • Liz Crokin is the reporter, she's the one who said nobody was in the bar, asked any questions about the reporting about the barkeeps, didn't ask any questions of them, didn't ask for any cameras, shut the whole investigation down as a simple robbery[lc-wnd]
    • So that's we're going to go right now.
    • Liz crocodile[sic]Crokin, Sorry Liz, I was tired this morning: that's where we're going
  • [Day 212.4 Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • Okay. Day 212
    • I'm at 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, which is the headquarters of the FBI
    • So Andy!
    • Andy!
    • Andy!
    • Come on down let's chat!
    • Let's talk this over
    • It doesn't have to... No
    • Okay. He didn't he didn't come out
    • But anyway
    • J Edgar Hoover FBI building
    • I wanted to get back to that
    • {{ 911bs: I think he means "talking face-to-face" with people, instead of, you know, sending prowlers surreptitiously into your bedroom for an unannounced propofol interview }}
    • I want to get back to that rather than going after reporters
  • [212.5. Hillary's Leakers and Hackers, Awan Brothers Saga Deepens - YouTube]
    • Day 212 you're looking at the address of World Net Daily
    • I confirmed this is 2020 Penn Avenue. Suite 351 is right there
    • So Liz, all kidding aside, we are trying to--at the UPS Store here--trying to get ahold of you here in Washington DC
    • Give me a call at [[WATCH VIDEO FOR NUMBER]] if you're in Washington.
  • [Day 212.6. Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • Ok Heading our way up. I think we're about 1800 Pennsylvania Avenue
    • Right next to the White House of course is the Dept of Treasury
    • I asked the guy if he's seen the 7.7 Trillion dollar missing black budget from the DoD.
    • He said no, he hadn't seen it
    • I thought maybe--if they'd lost it, it had to be close by
    • This is a shout out to Cynthia McKinney
    • Hey Girl -- Danbangi {{ ?-? }}
    • And also Catherine Austin Fitts who broke the whole story.
    • This whole thing is just like the Al Capone Case, where the Accountant was the one who broke the story
    • And Catherine Austin Fitts broke the thing with the octopus and backbone of PROMIS software[2]
    • We're heading toward WND
  • [Day 212.7. Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • Okay. Day 212 and just going on our next visit
    • Ran into these veterans who are trying to raise awareness for veteran suicides
    • And 22
    • ACTIVIST: 22 veterans a day commit suicide. So we run with 22 lb vests for 22 kilometers a day, to signify the amount of American heroes who are taking their own lives.
    • And can I get your name?
    • ACTIVIST: James Peterson
    • And you served in the Army?
    • I did yeah. From 2002 to 2006, and I was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and 2005
    • ACTIVIST2: I'm a Kristy Williams and I'm actually a patriot--a civilian that joined in on the cause
    • ACTIVIST3: Jim Williams, I'm also a civilian. We're just here to support the military initiatives in Shepherd Center in Atlanta
    • GEORGE: Shepherd Center in Atlanta. And you don't have to be a military person to run with you guys?
    • ACTIVISTS: correct
    • GEORGE: Okay. Thank you very much, and thank you for your service.
    • ACTIVISTS: Thank you
  • [Day 212.8 Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • Okay. This is day 212 and this is kind of like where you solve the puzzle
    • So a couple of things.
    • The reason why I went by Podesta's offices is to say that's where the orders have been coming from since the day really Vince Foster died
    • And Podesta took over that role as enforcer
    • And in any political organization, now, you need an enforcer
    • You're going to have enemies. You're going to have an enemies list and you need an enforcer
    • So I'm going to just kind of start from the top and say if you don't have one of those, you're gonna have to play ball fairly with everybody else, and that's just not how this whole thing has been done
    • Since whenever Foster died I think it was 93
    • Foster was the old guy in in Arkansas
    • You're going to find that the enforcement source in Arkansas was convicts--so you have the guys working in a laundry room they just they're the laundry service, they're the trustees, they go out they do your killings, they come back
    • Or you have the--the motorcycle gang of guys that you've got out on--on parole. You do your dude Dirty Dozen and then you're done and then you you're free to go
    • And different arrangements for different number of killings
    • When you come to Washington though, you want to wash that away, and you want to start over
    • And you basically use ATF as your enforcer of the enforcers, and then you use it a union--usually like SEIU
    • Now here again I love the people of SEIU. They do great things all over the country
    • I'm just saying that there is a group that is embedded in that--that are typically usually convicted felons, usually murderers--that are released, for whatever reason (you'll read these news stories where so-and-so--met a priest, and then everything changed and now they're--they're all better and now they're on the street)
    • So that's why I mentioned SEIU
    • Now over at MedStar Hospital, you're going to have somebody in the laundry room, or somebody--the janitor etc, that just slips on a white coat, goes upstairs and--
    • As I said if it's a hospital you control, and you have to worry about cameras or anything like that--you just do the pillow thing
    • Now if you don't control, that, and you have to infiltrate the doctors, you're going to put a nurse anesthetist or something like that in there, and push push potassium, and that's going to be how he died
    • Now again at MedStar it's a private hospital, so they don't have to give up any information
    • And again Dr. Sava why--big DNC contributor, knows a Heather Podesta, knows John Podesta, why not just come forward and say, "hey I was there that night. I'm the attending physician. And here's exactly what happened. Here's the amenity diet. I was watching all the monitors."
    • Just be real verbose give a quick 15 minute interview to a reporter
    • I'm willing to drive up there right ow and take the testimony of him
    • When people come out of the hospital at 12 o'clock at night, and say they work in the OR that are OR nurses
    • And I say do you know Dr. Sava, and they say I've never heard that name before--it tells me that there's a late shift or a graveyard shift
    • And this we've seen this kind of revenge-network all over the world with the Clintons, beginning in Kosovo
    • This goes back to 1993 in Bosnia
    • Where not only--it's called an F.U. Network where it's total, complete, revenge, where we not only kill you, we take your organs, and we kill your kids, and we take their organs, and force--or if they're hot, we sell the girls into sexual slavery, and the boys will be doing [slave labor]
    • It's a total complete revenge network
    • And it's this kind of mafia mentality that John Podesta has, and that is the base of all this stuff
    • Now I don't mind a little hardball in politics, but this has been going on for a long long time it really needs to stop
    • And they're hiding behind Donna Brazile--I think we might have seen Donna Brazil on the street last night, walking by the Capitol Lounge
    • Maybe not maybe not
    • But I like Donna Brazile and I--I'm a Democrat I'm a Berniecrat, and even though she may be weighed in on the side of Hillary, I still like Donna Brazile, and I know her heart's in the right place
    • {{ 911bs: How do you know that? I don't believe that at all. I think she and all the other DNC people are corrupt as F }}
    • I know she's being forced to do these things
    • And everyone in the Democratic Party is being forced to do these things
    • And I just want to change it
    • I don't want John John Podesta to go to jail
    • {{ 911bs If he's responsible for child sex slavery as you claim I DO want him in jail. Sorry. I'll stop editorializing now }}
    • I don't want to push this investigation to that point
    • I just want Andrew McCabe to leave me alone--that's why I said hey Andrew when I was at the FBI building, earlier today, we can work this out
    • We know what the conspiracy is, and we just need to discontinue
    • Now the doctor is going to be incredibly important in this in this case
    • Rod Wheeler we don't know where he sits in this
    • It looks like he's giving up
    • I think he's giving up too easily
    • If I was investigating my kids' murder I would want someone a little bit more aggressive
    • I want him to come to Washington I want to work with him
    • I want to give him everything I've got, to get the information,
    • But I don't see why there's a DNC operative running the PR for the family
    • I don't see why the family is suing him, or someone is suing him to cease and desist
    • Brad Bowman who's--Brad Bowman is another one--a DNC operative that comes right from the MWW PR school of crisis management: Create a crisis, bring in the crisis management team, set up a fund that can divert all the donations, and then sit on the story
    • So commit the crime, and get the payment for covering up the crime, and also get the credit
    • Sometimes there's these self-congratulatory dinners that they hold for themselves on top of it
    • So--Podesta's run things through his wife, to shelter things, he's run things through his son,
    • Tony is as toured the world taking advantage of Podesta's Intelligence information
    • And I believe it's not only a child trafficking, but it's also the organ harvesting
    • It's the total F.U. network it's the F U Network
    • And the sooner everyone gets a conceptual model around that, and understands that this is what is happening--
    • You compromised the chief of police
    • You compromised the mayor
    • You compromise the various unions that you're working with
    • And then you use a force like JTTF and Andrew McCabe--
    • If anybody gets out of line, you have a federal police force with a 38,000 people that can come down on that
    • That's just agents alone not even operatives or informants
    • So that's what's going on here
    • I needed to kind of do a top-down for everyone, to just just understand this
    • This is this is Macon County line--writ large on the scale of the United States. That's all it is.
    • It's just good old times, southern good-old-boy-politics writ large, on the worldwide scale, not just the national scale, on the world wide scale
  • [Day 212.9 Hillary's Leakers and Hackers - YouTube]
    • And that's 1637 there 1635 right there
    • 19th Street, here off Dupont Circle in Washington DC
    • I wonder who's lives there?
    • That's going to be Eric Braverman
    • So I'm going to just take a walk this way, and walk in the life of Eric Braverman
    • Walk toward Dupont Circle
    • Now there's a Starbucks down here, that I'm going to go to.
    • And there's also an AT&T store where I would get where I get my Blackberry
    • AT&T store, actually that Hilary used--got her BlackBerries--most of them actually from this AT&T store
    • So what I wanted to say about Dupont Circle is: the Intelligence community--especially the CIA--is all about compromise compromise compromise
    • They use tinder, and all these different sites--Facebook--to gather footprints about their everyone
    • It's collect-it-all, its just like the NSA with phone conversations, but it's collect-it-all.
    • One of the--that's advertising--you need spots, retail spots, to then compromise people.
    • I mean there's no sense in gathering all this data on people and all these footprints about all their habits, and then not being able to use it
    • So right up here in Dupont Circle is very famous for being a kind of a gay--where people were compromised for--having relationships--as far as--with the homosexual relationships
    • That was back in the day when that was a something that you could be compromised for
    • Very close to Embassy Row.
    • Massachusetts Avenue
    • Now if we look just to the left here, though
    • We're not even to Starbucks
    • Yet huh 1603... 1603. Where have I seen that before?
    • That's where Shawn Lucas lived hmm
    • So Shawn Lucas lived at 1603 19th
    • And then down there at 16:30 sevens where Eric Braverman lived
    • If I walk just a little bit farther, I could go get a blackberry from the AT&T store hmm. I think I might.
    • I wonder if those are the special Blackberries.
    • The special Blackberries that be configured by Anthony Weiner and his trusted staff maybe
  • [Day 212.10. Hillary's Leakers, Hacker, and Henchmen - YouTube] *Okay. Everyone 212 I think is 10
    • I just talked to Liz Crokin.
    • She used to be a police reporter for the Trib in Chicago
    • But she's currently in LA, hence the post office box
    • But at least everybody knows that WND has signed a contract with her
    • And I'm talking her into come into Washington DC
    • Because she's a fantastic reporter
    • Jason Goodman offered to do a 45-minute--a super professional interview with her
    • And I think that would--he has that style where it's easy and conversational you can understand this kind of complex story is better through conversation
    • So please encourage Liz to come out, and encourage her editor to send her out to Washington DC
    • I told her for instance--there's something breaking every minute Dr. Sava[3] has been to the White House six times
    • People are going to start getting dates and times of that
    • His wife's been to the White House 23 times[1][2][3][4]
    • Again don't go after Obama--I'm just telling you, that's not a political statement I just don't want people wasting energy on disinfo
    • Focus on Podesta Podesta Podesta
    • Where he was those days, and those times for your correlation
    • It's going to be with Bob Creamer) is going to run the Arkanciders
    • So we'll start looking at Bob Creamers's visits to the White House as well
  • [Day 212.12 Hillary's Leakers, Hackers and Henchmen - YouTube]
    • {{ George and Jason Goodman }} in Rhode Island
    • I have been given reason to believe that this is going to be Dr. Savas new house
    • Or is it it Ateljevich Ateljevich's?
    • Fun name to say Ateljevich[5]
    • So. Man I love the turret. Jason what do you think about the turret?
    • {{ 911bs: Just your std. issue CIA turret }}
    • JASON: yeah nice house. Organ harvesting {{ constn noise / inaudible }}....could do business...
    • GEORGE no. Did you say 'organ harvesting'? I didn't--I never said that about Dr. Ateljevich or Dr. Sava
    • But--I could see a John Podesta--with the heart on his yeah--the heart behind him
    • JASON: That weird painting
    • I could see a person coming to him that needed a heart, like Pam Fleishaker, saying, "is there a way that, any way we could get a heart?"
    • So Ateljevich I wonder if Ateljevich was ever in Bosnia?
    • Remember the Bosnian conflict in 92
    • JASON: yeah
    • Wonder if he ever was there. Well we'll see we'll see
    • How many times did he go to White House? Six?
    • JASON: six times, but his wife went 22 {{ 23 }}
    • I guess maybe he---when you're doing something maybe you shouldn't be doing, and you do it six times,
    • JASON: It would be suspicious
    • Maybe you say--maybe send your wife, and then, like, John Podesta does that to!
    • He sends his wife to do stuff with the DC police
    • And then he sent his son around the world
    • If you look at the WikiLeaks emails--I don't know
    • I'm just thinking that John Podesta maybe the Godfather in all this
    • Remember that movie where the Godfather?
    • JASON: The Godfather! John Podesta {{ Laughs }}
    • Can you do that imitation?
    • JASON: on the day of my daughter's wedding if you ask me to do murder {{laughs}}
    • GEORGE: and what?
    • JASON: you don't even have the respect to call me Godfather,
    • GEORGE But I can call you pot butter[sic]POD father
    • GEORGE: We're in the DNC we can call you Pod-father

2017.05.10 18:28 ThatParanoidPenguin [DISCUSSION] I've been curating a list (with a lengthy description for each song) of the most overlooked, underrated, slept on tracks since 2017 began. Here is the playlist of music for April 2017.

SPOTIFY LINK

Sorry for being so late for April. I had finals and just now realized I had nothing typed up for April. I’ll definitely try to be more timely for May. I don’t have the most amazing set of songs this month because I was occupied with life, but there’s still a lot of bops.
I made a post on /hiphopheads for the whole year of 2016 with some really good hip hop tracks that were slept on and had some pretty good reception. Since 2017 started, I decided to do the same for pop music - however, I quickly found out that there's so much good pop that it would be impossible to make an end-of-year post and keep it under 40,000 characters if I wanted to make it in-depth. So, I've decided to make a post every month or so.
Before I begin, here's a few notes:
I don't have a real metric for exactly how popular the song is allowed to be. I usually go off of Spotify plays, but I don't really use a number because there are songs that are massive somewhere and aren't popular here. All My Friends has like 200 million plays on Spotify and yet no one in this damn country (US) knows it exists. However, I wouldn't post it on here because the general pop community has probably heard it. I also won't add anything that got a good amount of votes on this sub.
I kinda cheat. If you want to listen to really good stuff without any of the work, I recommend Spotify (if you're on another music service, you might be out of luck. I used to use Songza, which is now GPM, and their playlists were absolutely the best around) playlists, specifically Fresh Finds: Hiptronix, and Discover Weekly (if you listen to a lot of pop). However, I find the best stuff so I'm kinda being an aggregator of aggregates, I guess.
The list is limited to one main artist, but if the artist is featured, they can be featured as much they possibly could. If there's a song you feel like I missed, it might be because of this. It also might be because I felt the song I chose was better than the ones left out.
Also, I have a playlist I update once every week or more often with every single damn pop song I come across, regardless of popularity. Like the Slept On Pop playlist, it’s 1 song per artist, but features can have the same artist as many times as possible. Here it is, sitting at 25 hours of music with 420 songs so far.
2017 ULTIMATE POP
With all that out of the way, let’s get it going! Everything is roughly in chronological order of release, from earliest to latest.
RAC - This Song (feat. Rostam)
This is probably one of my favorite pop songs released this year so far. It’s sitting at a lofty 1.5 million Spotify plays, and it was upvoted well in the sub, so it’s not totally obscure. Sorry about that. But, RAC has always been one of my favorite remix artists. From Anamanaguchi’s Airbrushed to Lana Del Rey’s Blue Jeans, RAC’s been churning out essential remixes for the last few years. He released a great album in 2014, and this is his biggest hit yet, a synth-laden paradise he crafts with Vampire Weekend’s creative force, Rostam Batmanglij. The song sounds quaint enough, until a “Woo!” cues in one of the best drops I’ve heard this year so far. It’s a collaboration that works in spades, combining Rostam’s airy singing with RAC’s signature synths, and it doesn't only feel natural, it feels right.
Tairey - Provoke (feat. Badboxes)
On Provoke, Tairey and Badboxes sing and rap over a synth-fueled fever dream. It’s honestly all over the place, and there’s hints of everything here, and it’s hard not to make comparisons to Clarence Clarity or EDEN, with some wistful remnants of love spread across some fierce vocals. It’s kinda hard to describe this one, so give it a listen.
Exhibitionist - Hands
Much like Torres or other indie rock darlings, Exhibitionist combines her sultry and heartbreaking voice with an instrumental that is honestly nothing short of impressive. Hands sounds like running - it’s percussion claps on and on and on, and the synths beep and beep, leaving little room from breath. Despite the vocals being delivered so softly and slowly, Hands is a stressful song, and you really feel the anxiety being expressed throughout its duration.
Cymbol - Roll It Up (feat. Bandi & Cameron Louw)
Oh MAN. Where do I start? This might be one of my favorite dark pop tracks right now. Roll It Up is the perfect marriage between the “I don’t give a fuck” stylization of BANKS and the catchy instrumental choruses on recent pop hits such as Jason Derulo’s Trumpets. The hook for Roll It Up is so massive, it’s almost surprising that it hasn’t been done before. Add a featured vocalist that sounds like a smoother Anderson .Paak and we have a bop and a half here, folks.
San Fermin - August
San Fermin is all bops. The Brooklyn indie rock band has been releasing constant quality since 2013, and their new album Belong is no exception. August is a standout, a soaring and triumphant arrangement that is equal parts indie pop perfection and poppy brilliance. Add some trademark San Fermin dreamy vocals and this track really kills it.
UZ - Million Dollar Bills (feat. Gia)
If Lorde did a ton of coke, we would probably get this album. It’s dark pop and some of the darkest I’ve heard it, with some deep DEEP dubsteppy bass. Don’t write it off immediately, because it slaps. There’s some expression here, and I really like the instrumental. It’s dark when it needs to be, and light when the chorus is too much. I’m listening on a phone right now, and I can’t imagine how it sounds on a good speaker system.
Jai Wolf - Starlight (feat. Mr Gabriel)
Jai Wolf’s Indian Summer helped him soar with a hell of a debut single. On Starlight, the NYC producer shows his strengths, and differences from ODESZA’s signature style of production. Here, Jai Wolf has sacrificed the sheer bombastic nature of Indian Summer in favor of something more ethereal. Backed by some dreamy pianos, the duo manages to create something truly spectacular, marked by a phenomenal and massive chorus that brings up comparisons of Porter Robinson’s Sea of Voices. This song is meant to be blasted atop of the highest mountain in sight.
Ric Rufio - So Wonderful
With a beat that seems more hip hop than pop, So Wonderful is a mishmash of samples and styles that somehow all work. It seems stitched with a chorus that was meant for windows down car rides, and a bridge that sounds like fucked up James Blake, leading into what serves as the busiest variation on the chorus yet. It’s a hectic mess, and honestly I love it.
Jukebox The Ghost - Stay The Night
With an opening that sounds quite like a certain Journey song, it’s easy to write off the new Jukebox The Ghost song. These indie pop legends have more up their sleeves, however. They’ve arrived poppier than ever with a chorus that was born for the radio. It’s pristine, a polished single that understands what it is, and is all the better for how poppy it is.
Yelle - Interpassion
On Interpassion, Yelle is as outrun as possible. The instrumental is straight Kavinsky, and it comes roaring out of the gate made for runways and highways. This French band has been serving bops for a while, but this might be one of my favorite tracks yet. They avoid repetition on this one with an outro that perfectly sits aside 80s pop stalwarts, and fades out in the best way possible.
Jaymes Young - Stoned On You
Stoned On You is the latest in a wave of indie rock-inspired pop, but it’s certainly catchy and certainly effective. But, it’s smart. It keeps its best trick under its sleeve, teasing and teasing in the second chorus, until it explodes into one of my favorite synth lines I’ve heard this year. The second half is decidedly more electronic and rough, and it makes for a really interesting dynamic that really makes the single stand out.
Sarah Skinner - Waiting On You
It appears like Lorde and Alessia Cara have inspired an entire generation of downtempo pop singers, and Sarah Skinner is one of them. On Waiting On You, she combines the atmosphere of both eras of Lorde, the triumphantly bittersweet Green Light and the subtle, monochrome, sandblasted Pure Heroine. It’s really easy to get lost in the drums and synths, and I’ll happily do so.
Sandra Kolstad - Mango Corner (feat. Miss Tati)
Mango Corner sounds about as much as you can imagine it sounds based on title alone. It’s a dissonant bop, a song that wears its electronic influences on its sleeves and doesn’t care who sees it. I’ve done nothing but scream about synths for the last few songs, but it’s definitely warranted here. There’s a lot going on, and it’s all pretty wild. The last half in particular is busy as hell, but it somehow all works.
Ponette - Freak
“Baby don’t go near me, I’m a freak/everything about you makes me weak” is probably the best way to sum up Freak. It’s steeped in dance music, with wobbly synths, but it never finds something to hold onto. Sounds are barely repeated, and it sounds messy in all of the right ways.
POLIÇA - Still Counts (feat. Spank Rock)
POLIÇA may be the queen of dreary explosive synthpop. Her first duo of songs since 2016’s United Crushers, and the second track in this two song drop is a winding, droning, nighttime stresser. The one synth climbs and climbs, and Spank Rock and POLIÇA both deliver anxious vocals, leaving the listener little time to breathe between each bombardment of noise. When the cymbal crashes, you think it’s over, but the song picks back up again, and you strap yourself in for the ride.
Big Wild - Empty Room (feat. Yuna)
Yuna and Big Wild seem like a collaboration that shouldn’t work as well as it does. Big Wild takes his wave of chillwave-inspired dance, and Yuna fills in the rest. “So, now I’m dancing in an empty room” is the perfect chorus here, and the drop defies convention, making lefts when there should be rights, and it really only works with the context of drops in the last few years or so. It kinda falls apart, and the horns and synths just sound a little off near the end of each chorus, a brilliant decision that makes the song sound as desperate as possible.
Son Lux - Part of This
Part of This is punchy; it’s rough, raw, and fierce. Instruments wrestle back and forth with each other, and things sound like they’re struggling to come out of the mix, as if each instrument is being pulled from a pile of instruments while sinking into quicksand. It’s a remarkably noisy, stressful track, and I think you just have to listen to understand what I’m saying.
Charly Bliss - Westermarck
Someone described this on /indieheads as the girl band version of Weezer, and I can’t disagree with that. Charly Bliss is sugary rock, and it doesn’t hold back. “I wanna touch you, I want to cry/floating above you, I think I might.”
Superorganism - It’s All Good
The queens of left-field pop are back. After Something for your M.I.N.D. got taken down from the internet due to an uncleared sample, they’re quick to the chase with a new single that’s just as perfect as their splash in the pop world. It’s All Good is more subtle with its sun drenched guitars and Avalanches-esque sampling, and in some ways, it’s better off for that. It’s busy, but everything fits in place, and it has one of the most natural sampled choruses I’ve ever heard. The full-length from these dudes is gonna be so massive.
Fortunes. - Hero Man
Hero Man is some R&B-inspired pop that sounds like the marriage of Troye Sivan and the new wave of smooth wavy instrumentals found on And After That-era Goldlink. With a winding set of vocals, and an outro that consists partly of “If anyone fuck with him, I’ll fuck em up,” this one is a surefire bop.
Illenium - Sound of Walking Away (feat. Kerli)
When an intro that sounds eerily like MGMT’s Time to Pretend, Illenium starts this song off with a soft opening that eventually explodes into one of the biggest instrumentals I’ve heard in a while. It sounds a little dated, but hot damn, those synths sound like they could rival some Porter Robinson and Madeon drops. Just listen to that. Damn.
Chris Tall - Morning Golden Sunrise
A surefire classic dance bop, Morning Golden Sunrise kinda speaks for itself. It’s well-crafted, and frankly, it slaps. “Just like a morning golden sunrise,” the chorus beckons, and it’s repetitious, but engaging. Finish it off with a jazzy outro, and this is some really chill stuff.
Stockholm Noir - Hopeless Dreams
The cover of Hopeless Dreams is a low-res photo of a mask on a gray background. It’s not at all fitting for this dance pop bop, but it’s certainly interesting. Hopeless Dreams is nothing short of a dance anthem, screaming “hopeless, hopeless dreams, you can take the rest of me,” over a pulsing, muted dance instrumental that meshes greatly with the powerful vocals.
Elliot James - Bones
Somewhere in between Calvin Harris and James Blake arrives Elliott James, but then the chorus comes. It’s subdued, a left-field drop that sounds more industrial and uncomfortable than it should, like if you heard it in another room through a thin metal filter. “Trying just to kiss your bones, I know that they’re frozen stones,” he yammers, and I don’t quite get it, but just know that the instrumental is a triumph.
Major Minor - Smokers and Jokers (feat. Aerborn)
Trop pop? In my popheads?! What!!! I assure y’all, this song is a slapper. With verses that don’t slouch with some really nice background crooning, it’s the perfect environment for a chorus that snatches the song, and it does. Some pipes contrast with pitch-shifted vocals, and it makes the rest of the song decidedly Glass Animals-esque. The wild percussion is a highlight here, and it really makes a case for this being more than your average tropical pop song.
Casey Dienel - High Times
Holy shit, this is WEIRD. It starts off with some PC Music-esque industrial synth that becomes the basis for the song. It’s the same sound modulated and pitch-shifted on and on, and somehow it works. But what makes this truly weird is the country vocals over this. And the song length! 6 and half minutes! What! But it earns that length, and it becomes more explosive as it grows out of the synth, eventually morphing into some dissonant indie rock that would make Angel Olsen blush. And then it devolves into rough noisy madness, and fades out with a more conventional pop beat.

2017.04.11 00:28 jffan Old account posts archive part 2 (Large link dump)

Had to break this down into multiple text posts, because of how much text was involved.
Looking pretty!
Hello again everyone! So this is the first of a few random images I've found which don't seem to be from larger sets of photos. I figured I would post one of them every other day to alternate the albums which should mean a steady release of photos for the new few days at least. I assume no one would mind?
Found this caption for the image from another site:
At Tao nightclub's 3 Year Anniversary Party - November 8, 2008
Also found these additional photos from the same event, although they're Geddy images, so you'd have to pay to get them larger. (Probably worth it! :P)
EDIT: Never mind, those prices are ridiculous haha! Glad I've never had to license Geddy Image photos before.
Jenna to co-star in new show Apocalypse Slough later this year!
Sorry for the double post today. Just got a notification about this and thought other fans would want to know Jenna will be back on TV again for a bit in the near future!
"The Specials" movie premiere [2000] (Album)
Hey everyone! So as I mentioned in my post the other day, it's been quite some time since I last posted anything here, but I've gone on a hunt for new images to share with you all.
Now some of these images should be brand new to this sub (Or at least "new" in that I haven't seen them in the last 200+ submissions), and others will be albums containing more photos from single images or sets that have been shared before.
The latter is the case today for this small (2 image) album. One of the photos had been in an earlier set I shared of random Jenna photos, but I was able to find another one which I hadn't seen before. (I excluded a few with her ex husband in them, but should anyone want those for some reason, I could add them in).
EDIT: I should add that this would be one of her earliest public appearances at a premiere type deal. It wasn't until about 5 years later when The Office would start airing.
Also, I'm going to try something slightly different this time around, in that I'll be posting sets from different years out of order. For example, this set of photos was taken at the premiere for the movie "The Specials" back in 2000 (which Jenna had a very small roll in), while Friday's will be a more recent set from an appearance she made back in 2013.
Hope you all enjoy!
From behind
It's been a while since I've posted anything here, but I've gone a hunt for new images that I've never seen on this subreddit before. Should be able to keep things fresh for at least a little while by the looks of it!
Jenna and Angela
The "cover" for Jenna's unreleased grunge rock album
From Angela Kinsey's Instagram account. This earlier post of Angela's is also related.
The most recent photo of Jenna that I'm aware of
Angela Kinsey posted this photo last night on Instagram. If you're on Instagram and aren't following either her or Jenna, you probably should!
Dream Woman (Album in comments)
Hey everyone! So I've seen this image around here before, but never the full set of photos. After a bit of searching, I found out they were from a magazine called Page Six, and the specific article was called "The Office Perk". After a bit more searching, I was able to find scans of the rest of the article in quesiton, which you can view at the following address:
http://imgur.com/a/dus14#2
The main image (which I found on some sketchy looking Russian fan site) is a touched up version of the photo from this page of the article. EDIT: I tried touching up the original, larger source image and removed the text as requested. You can find that here.
Should anyone want to buy a phyiscal copy of the magazine that these photos are from, I believe this is the actual copy on eBay.
This will probably be my last submission for a while, as I don't have any other photos or albums in the pipeline to post. If I find any more photos that I haven't seen around here before though, you'll all be the first to know!
Hopefully this will work for you. Keep in mind, I'm no Photoshop pro by any means!
Still Beautiful (Album)
Just to clarify, by the title, I don't mean that she hasn't been beautiful at one point, I've just seem some comments lately about people thinking Jenna's starting to look a little older.
With that in mind, I thought I'd post these relatively recent photos of her from last May in which I think she still looks fantastic!
Leaving the Late Show
Found this picture just a few days ago, and it appears to be from a taping of the Late Show from around 2008. I had commented on someone else's post a while ago with the following pictures, which appear to be from the same night:
It was from around 2008 I believe. I had posted some photos that seem to be from the same event sometime ago, but I can't seem to find them at the moment. I think I might have just linked to them in some comments. I'll post back here if I can find them!
EDIT: Found them:

Jenna in one of her earliest film roles, "Pardon and Peace... Remembered"
So just a little bit of backstory on this for those who may want it. A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across a random tweet of this DVD case, with the following caption:
"Maybe I should follow Jenna Fischer's path to fame and get God on my side early."
According to the person who tweeted that, it was actually her. I've never seen this educational film mentioned anywhere in reference to her, and searching for her name and the film doesn't return anything. To be honest, I wasn't 100% certain that was Jenna based on the picture of the DVD case.
Also, to my knowledge, the earliest film she had ever been in was 1998's Born Champion, according to IMDB, and with no mention of this short film on there, I wasn't to sure. (For a list of more of Jenna's earliest roles, click here.) I would like to guess this was filmed before Born Champion, just based on how old it looks, and from the one site mentioning the publish date as 1999, but Jenna didn't seem to start having straightened hair in her roles until around 2003/2004. (Not that people can't curl and straighten their hair as wanted mind you)
After a bit of searching though, I found out the DVD was for sale online. This page has a picture of the cover on it and a brief description, and the order now button takes you to an actual e-commerce store page, where you can purchase the DVD. As it was pay day that week, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a copy. At best, I'd get a copy of one of Jenna's earliest film roles, and at worst, I'd get a Catholic educational film I didn't really want.
I finally got the DVD this week though, and I'm happy to confirm that it's her in this short film. Also, just as a slight aside, it was one of the stranger DVD's I had seen. Loading it on my computer shows it containing only one file, in a .dvd format. I don't have a plain old DVD player to try it in, which it might work on, so I had to do a bit of searching and found out you could just copy the .dvd file and change it's file type to .avi or .mp4 for example, then run it in VLC. With that said though, it won't load into a number of video editing programs, as it appears as corrupted, most likely as it doesn't match a proper .avi/.mp4 format. Strange stuff indeed!
Please direct extra upvotes to hmblm12 who correctly identified Bill Erwin as the old man in this short film just from the cover picture. Bill Erwin had a role on Seinfeld as an Old Man, as well as the Old Man in this short film, based on the credits.

More of Jenna from the "Walk Hard" special features
This is a follow up to the Jenna's naughty deleted lines from "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" (NSFW) video I had posted a few days ago, for those who haven't seen it already.
Sorry again for the crappy quality of this video. I don't have a Blu-Ray player in my PC, so I had to record the video off of my TV with my phone. I was able to record the audio directly through my computer though, so hopefully that makes it a little better.
For those who are interested, these scenes are from the Special Features part of the 2-disc Blu-Ray version of Walk Hard. I would highly recommend picking up a copy if you enjoyed the film at all, or just want more HD footage of Jenna!
All smiles
Possibly the earliest "film" that Jenna was in
I stumbled across a random tweet this morning with the following caption:
"Maybe I should follow Jenna Fischer's path to fame and get God on my side early."
Apparently it's actually her, and that DVD is still for sale. I've never seen this educational film mentioned anywhere in reference to her, and searching for her name and the film doesn't return anything.
Previously, to my knowledge, the earliest film she had ever been in was Born Champion, according to IMDB anyways, so this is pretty surprising, and since it's pay day this Friday, I might waste some money and buy a copy of it just to see it for myself.

For those who are interested, this clip is from the "Line-O-Rama" extra from the 2 disc Blu-Ray version of Walk Hard. Aside from this scene, there's about 2 seconds of Jenna doing a Middle Eastern style dance during an alternate version of Dewey's acid trip scene, some impressive cleavage shots during the "The Last Word with John Hodgman" extra (Jenna's in the senior version of Darlene makeup mind you), a number of good shots of Jenna in the "Let's Duet" video, a clip of her talking about her costume assistant having to keep her boobs from popping out of her top, and a few more things that I'm forgetting at the moment. All of that definitely makes the 2 disc version worth purchasing though IMO!
So it's taking me a little longer than I hoped to get all of those clips together, but hopefully this very short gif of Jenna dancing will tide you over! I'm going to re-film that one though as it get's cut off on the right which isn't that great.
EDIT: Also, these:

[A List of Jenna's Interviews/Talk-Show Appearances]
Hello everyone! As some of you may remember, a couple of months ago, I posted a list containing all of the pre-The Office TV show/movie appearances I could find of Jenna's.
I thought I'd do something a little similar this time around and come up with an easy to click list containing all of Jenna's talk-show/web type interviews that I could find. This is by no means a complete list, so if you find any other ones that you think should be added, post them below and I will add them in.
Also I've kept interviews directly related to The Office to a minimum, but if anyone wants to compile those and maybe have them added to this list, by all means go ahead.
Without any further ado, here's the list.
Comedy Bang Bang
Ellen
Emmy Roundtable: Comedy Actresses
Jenna Becomes a P.A. on the set of The Office
Late Night with Conan O'Brien
Movie/Play Press Junkets/Inteviews
The Bonnie Hunt Show
The Late Show with David Letterman
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
Watch What Happens Live
Unfortunately, I can't find a copy of the full episode Jenna's apperance on this show, but I do know it was from Season 6, Episode 72, and I have watched it in it's entirety a year or so ago (Perhaps it's been pulled since then). Any who, here's all of the clips I could find on the Bravo website.

Not entirely interview type videos.

Jenna Kicking Ass (Gif)
A clip from Jenna's self-directed mockumentary LolliLove. Unfortunately, there's no HD version of the film out there, so I did the best I could with the source material I had.
You can watch the full movie at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJbk6eyM8UQ through TromaMovies official YouTube channel, which is pretty awesome. This scene in particular starts around 48:05.
"BEESLY!!!"
I've never believed in angels until now...
Nothing great, but here's the original just doubled in size, using the default sharpen tool, and kind of an almost painted look using the reduce noise tool. I'm sure someone else with actual skill could do a much better job though!
In better news, I found three more pictures while looking for the source of yours, that are actually from another set I posted a while ago. Unfortunately, they were about as small as the one you were looking for. I did find another larger photo though that I haven't seen before, which I'll post in the next day or so!
EDIT: Almost forgot. The white dress photo shoot was apparently from an issue of Parade Magazine if that helps at all. Sounds like it might be from around 2007.

This is actually from the same photoshoot as the one picture that The-Nard_Dog posted a few months ago, so head over there if you want to see that one!

Pretty in Pink
Not sure if anyone will see this, but I found three more images from this photoshoot, although they're quite small unfortunately. Sounds like they were from a Parade Magazine shoot though, and my guess from what I've found is it was from around 2007. With that said:
Jenna in Wisely's "Through Any Window" music video
For anyone who usually asks me for flattering pictures of Jenna's behind, you might enjoy the video around 2:14 and 2:26.
EDIT: There's a higher quality version at https://vimeo.com/915500, but I went with the YouTube version as I know some people on Reddit aren't the biggest fans of Vimeo.

Jenna in White - Pt. 2 (Album)
New album of images from three different sets of Jenna in white! (More or less)
Also, would anyone be interested in copies of radio interviews with Jenna from the radio show Loveline? I found copies from two of her appearances on the show and they seem pretty interesting. (If you can get past Adam Corolla at times!) I was thinking of posting those here, but wasn't sure if MP3 links would go over well or not with the more visually oriented crowd.
Jenna & Angela Stretching it Out (Album/Follow up)
This is a follow up to a photo I posted a little while ago on here. I was able to find more photos from the set, and thought you all might enjoy!
Polka Dot Dress
I've been looking forward to posting this one for some time. That first picture is now officially my favorite photo of Jenna. She's so cute, it should be illegal!
Random Photos of Jenna (Album)
Sorry to anyone who clicked on the earlier link I posted, and can't get to it anymore. I had some issues getting Reddit to grab the album thumbnail, so I deleted the old album and made this new copy!
EDIT: I forgot to add this photo when I copied the album. It's been added to the new one now though! Also, for those that are curious, these, three, photos came from the WayBackMachine's archives for Jenna's (Pam's) Myspace page from back in the day.
Happy Jenna (Album)
Thanks! I've got 3 more albums ready to go, and one album that adds to a photo I posted about a month ago.
Also, I'll see what I can do about the other request haha! For the time being, I had found these a while ago:
